The announcements just keep coming today from the Walt Disney Showcase in Hollywood. It was announced today that Johnny Depp has signed on to play the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's upcoming adaptation of
Alice in Wonderland, a role he was previously rumored to be attached to.
Mia Wasikowska and Matt Lucas have already signed on for the project, which Tim Burton will direct from Linda Woolverton's script. It is said that the film will combine live-action and motion-capture footage, much like
Beowulf did.
The film will begin principal photography in November, with a release date currently set for March 5, 2010.

This'll be awesome (as always)
A much shorter role for Depp compared to his recent work with Burton, but maybe it's for the best.
I shop at Hot Topic thank you very much, but I agree. I hate it when a certain movie seems to become exclusive only to one crowd.
This film will be a blast, don't get me wrong, but I fucking detest the crowd it draws.
I can't wait
Tim Burton + Johnny Depp = awesome movie
