Is Rob Zombie Directing Conan?

Source:  Bloody Disgusting
Bloody Disgusting have confirmed 100% that Rob Zombie has been meeting with Lionsgate and Nu Image about directing the long gestating Conan remake.

Nothing has been signed at this moment, but an announcement is forth coming. The film would revive the original 1982 franchise that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and was directed by John Milius. While news is light on this front at the moment, we will follow-up with any immediate announcements.

Conan has a proposed 2009 release date. Now that the writers' strike has come to an end, this should come together pretty quickly.

K-Man's comments was too long. The only part I bothered reading was the part about me. And yes, I am a creative genius. I'm the one who got joe johnston to direct the wolf-man and channing tatum to be Duke even though nobody liked that idea. heh, heh, heh
I AM THE MAN WITH TWO FIRST NAMES! BOW DOWN BEFORE MY EXCELLENCE!

oh god, another "SMART" movie know it all!! yes.yes bow down to the almighty know it all of everything is there is to know about films and every detail that goes into making them!! and thats why Rob "mutha-fuckin" Zombie is out there making movies thats raking in millions and this sad loser is on here masturbating at the thought of his long ass ccomment!!
get real "K-mart"!! (now that one i'm proud off)..... i see alot of shit on here with people thinking they know better than the rest of us, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't! BUT!!! you deff don't know better than the money making movie industry, which as we all know is where the buck stops! and with the money coming in for a guy that, and i quote, "His overall style is more amateur then any film school student I have ever seen." well then that says we're all right and your a dick who thinks he knows better than the whole of the movie fan world who have paid to see his "amature style" movies!! so jokes on you :P
your fully entitled to your opinion, but it don't mean jack shit when everybody else has disagreed with you! so it aint all of of us with the bad taste in movies, it's you!! :( yes, take it like mommy does!!

Oh yeah and one more thing. What I absolutely love is that of all the movies you chose (the Hottie and the Nottie, Elektra, Cody Banks, Date and Epic Movie, Mad Money, High School Musical 1-2(probably will like 3), Daddy Day Camp,)
There is not NOT ONE on the list I have ever even seen. And do you know why? Because I have the ability to judge and the common sense not to see them. That is how the fuck I can claim to know anything about movies Radimus-83.

Whoa! Hahaha! Look don't be pissed at me just because Rob Zombie is a hack. The only other person in Hollywood who is as talent-LESS as Zombie in terms of making a uncreative, mindless sack of shit is Uwe Boll. Yes that's right, the "Master of Error" himself. Of course if you jackasses actually liked House of 1000 corpses and that Reject piece of crap sequel then you probably liked Boll's astonishing Alone in the Dark, at which my point is proven.
Chad_Vital, To be honest I don't even know where to start with someone like you. First off you dish out comments that are equivalent to that of a 12 year old (what the hell does Brady-bunch reruns have anything to do with what I said). I love how a 24 year old D-Bag like yourself who is mature enough to have "Your Mom's" written under his location, has the balls to even open his mouth when it comes to personal opinion and taste (maybe if you had switched "your" to "my" then we all could actually take you seriously). Oh and then you go on about Zombies fashion choices, which has no relevance whatsoever (That's like me saying, Ron Howard is a great filmmaker because he wears hats), and continue about how his movies are so good simply because of how gory they are. Are you for real? That's your argument? So if I go get myself a 35mm Arricam and start filming a movie about a bunch of teenagers in Texas who get lost and find themselves amongst a bunch of inbred serial killers (which is really original by the way) and then just start brutally killing people and hacking the shit out of them with lots of blood, then I guess I've made a good movie right? Yeah now who is the unimaginative one jackass?
I mean that is what you are saying, because that is all Zombie accomplished. His overall style is more amateur then any film school student I have ever seen.
And you say "It must be HARDER THAN SHIT to please you movie and music wise." No not really, the movies just have to have an actual decent storyline that may require a little thought processing and that actually progress, dialogue that is not complete and utter mindless babel, actors who can actually act, characters worth liking, and/or a director who does not film his movies on the same wavelength as his emo-loving music. Just one of those things would be nice.
And then there is Radimus-83.
"K-Fed" wow! that's never been said before. I bet you pride yourself as being pretty creative too, don't you? Yeah, think again. I see your creativity and imagination match that of your boyfriend Zombies. Do me a favour will you? You say you have seen worse than the Halloween remake.....Name it.
Oh and to answer your question, you asked, because you like the movie does that mean you have bad taste in movies? No of course not.........You have horrific taste in movies.
AndrewRyan, the guy with the two first names, that is how you put was it not? Yeah another creative genius on our hands. Its no wonder all the same D-Bags of Movieweb love Zombie's movies.
And I got no problem listing some of my favorite movies. I'll be sure to post it on my profile later so you guys can take a second glance. You ready for this, because I'm not sure you cockfags can handle such quality films? And I cant wait to hear what comments you guys come up with for these as well.
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Matrix, Star Wars, Braveheart, Bourne Trilogy, The Usual Suspects, Saving Private Ryan, Indiana Jones Trilogy, Back to the Future, Gladiator, Goonies, E.T., Boondock Saints, The Rock, Heat, Terminator 2, Aliens, Predator, .....The list goes on and on. But guess what you wont find? Any of Rob Zombies horseshit.

listen "K-Fed",, your head is so far up your own ass!!! the argument on here isn't weather Rob Zombie can make movies, we know he can!! and 2 out of 3 is pretty good! although i enjoyed the Halloween remake, i have deff seen alot worse!
now please tell me oh smart and knowledgeable "K-man",, how the fuck can you claim to know anything apart from the colour of your sister's underwear? you better pu a list up here like "Fuzion" mentioned,, cause right now most of us agree than your nothing more than dickless shitty wannabe critic!! i like Zombies movies, so your telling me i have i have bad taste in movies?

I'd be very interested in seeing lists of K-man's favorite movies and musical artists.

I'd really love to bash him right about now.

If you're not pleased with The Devil's Rejects or his first big musical cd with "Dragula" and "Living Dead Girl" then there is no hope for you K-Man. It must be HARDER THAN SHIT to please you movie and music wise. I think the man is pure talent. He writes and directs his own movies, writes and performs his own music, and let's not forget that he has a bad ass fashion taste. Apparantly you didn't watch his House of 1,000 Corpses or Devil's Rejects because he clearly has his own style. Let's face it, those 2 movies are probably one of the most brutal and sinful movies alive. I haven't watched Rambo yet but I heard it's pretty brutal so I can't compare these movies to that and sitting here thinking about it makes me realize there are no movies like his own. Halloween doesn't count since it was a remake of an already made up character somebody else thought of.

K-Man, you're probably one of those few people who watch movies like "Bring It On #12" and High School Musical and are more than 10 years old.

And then you do it...you diss on AvP 2. *sigh* do you have any creativity in your life? Or do you like watching The Brady Bunch re-runs? It's a movie about 2 huge iconic sci-fi creatures going at it with people thrown in...and you think it sucks because of why? Do you expect them to win Oscars or something?

P.S. Umm it's us the people downloading music for free that's ruining the industry...not Rob Zombie you dumbass. Have a nice day (unless you have a problem with nice days' too then nevermind).

There are movies that are made, usually one or two every 10 years, that no matter who you are or what your viewpoints of movies are, you cannot argue the fact that what you have just seen is quite simply a horrific pile of meaningless shit. What shocks me is that the hack of a director/musician we know as Rob Zombie has managed to put out three of these kinds of movies in less than five years and there are still people fucking dumb enough to go and see them. Now I'm all for difference of opinion, but there is no argument here, its as simple as this, if you like Rob Zombie movies you have horrible taste in movies.....plain and simple. Its pretty much the only failsafe way to tell if you have good taste or shitty taste in movies.
Most directors have a certain trait that makes them stick out from the others, giving them a unique style of filmmaking that most fans come to love, whether it be a certain type of film stock, a repetitive camera move, style of lighting, or even the over look of the film. Rob Zombies trait is that every single thing that he does is wrong. Nothing works, nothings flows, there are no positives. The only thing he does is waste A LOT of film that a good filmmaker could be using. Rob Zombies movies are nothing more than a higher budget student film and that's all.
Now he has already shown us the correct way to absolutely butcher a horror classic like Halloween, is it really necessary for him to do the same with the Fantasy genre? Come on people, pull your head out of your asses with the whole, "its going to be bloody if he does it, yeah!!" because I believe you same morons said that recently for another film that went by the title AVP 2: Requiem and look where that movie wound up.
I for one was intrigued by the idea of a remake of something like Conan. The idea of what potential it could have under a promising director would be incredible. What's even more amazing is how fast all that got shot to shit with this recent announcement. Fuck Rob Zombie and his movies. Go back to ruining the music industry!

February 8th, 2008 4:12pm
Rob Zombie to "RE-MAKE" "CONE"!! LOL!! This is not Rob's genre (Fantasy Adventure). It would turn into something like "Excalibur" meets "Halloween", some over the top, Z Grade Acting, bloody film, W./little to no characters or plot!
Another "Cult film ruined!

Rob Zombie ..mabey Re-Making "Freaks", but "NOT" Conan! What about John McTiernan, or mabey Ridley Scott?

Ya Know!??!? Come to think of it, John Milius directed "Red Dawn", back in the 80's & that was stupid!

ut you have to remember that Zack Snyder only really done the "Dawn of the Dead" remake before he done 300! so there is a chance, and like i said, so far Zombies movies have been good!!
  (Delete)
February 8th, 2008 12:33pm
I don't know about this. Zombie could make it really bloody, but he's more about horror gore and violence than epic bloody tales like 300. Maybe it could work or it could be shit, but it isn't final, so I'm not gonna decide just yet if he's the guy for the job.
