Spider-Man 4 is finally on track after many delays and the director is talking a little about the long-gestating project.
MTV Splash Page recently talked to director Sam Raimi about the fourth Spidey flick and it seems that Kirsten Dunst's involvement is still uncertain.
"Kirsten, I'd love to work with her again," Raimi said. "I hope she'll be written into it. I couldn't imagine making one without her, and I think she's an important part of the movies."
Raimi added, though, that the development process is just starting up and there is much work to be done.
"I'm really excited about
Spider-Man, and I'm hoping to direct it," he said. "I don't have a script yet, but production would start probably by March of 2010, I'm guessing. It sounds like a long time away, but we need a script first, and a lot of pre-production has to take place."
He also noted that one fan-favorite story might be told in the future as well, that of Dylan Baker's Curt Connors, who becomes The Lizard.
"He's a great actor, and I think one day The Lizard's story will be told," he teased. "I don't know if it will be this one or not. I just don't know. I'm definitely hoping to work with Dylan in the picture. I just don't know who the villain is yet."

And why hasn't Kirsten come out already like Raimi and Maguire has and said she's down with it? I thought they all had that PACT with each other...? I know she's doing a few movies, but c'mon, she has HAD to hear of this already.
Sounds a little fishy.
if so that would be sweet!
they should also put Kingpin in it too
Oh, and people who are obsessing over Venom's return, use your head. Eddie Brock died in Spider-man 3. Without him, it's not Venom, just the symbiote.
"Spiderman 3 < = lint in my ass hairs"
"** Spiderman 4 ! = anything good"
**equation variable dependant, false upon injection of multiple awesome integers, i.e. Ezekiel, Morlun, Shathra, Kraven the Hunter, Steroids for all male cast members, boob jobs for all females.
Its just seems to fit neatly together, not forgetting small cameos from fan faverates.
i'm not sayin go dark in tone an all that dark knight stuff but after 2 goblins, doc ock an venom, peter needs something big and bad coming his way
CARNAGE!!!!!
It's his lust for youth and his wealth that make him more feasible as a realistic character. I do want Carnage and The Lizard to appear eventually just because they're such aggressive characters and could deliver some sweet action sequences. But if we're going beyond that, and looking at who would be easier to write into Spider-man 4, the Vulture could take over Osbourn Industries and start designing illegal weaponry, including his winged suit. I doubt they'll go with that, but it's not a bad start. My point is, he's much easier to introduce into the movies. Remember, Raimi already said he wasn't going to change the tone of the Spider-man series just because The Dark Knight did so well with a darker plot. I think introducing Carnage would kind of be imitating the Joker a little too much, and ultimately take the story in the wrong direction. At least save him for Spider-man 5.
