Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Terminated?

Source:  Entertainment Weekly
Sorry to disappoint, but word has it that Fox will not be renewing Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for a third season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "It's done," maintains a source close to the show. "Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks." Adds a network insider: "Consider it canceled."

But look to the bright side, even with depressing ratings, the network has yet to make a final decision, and won't until they release their fall schedule May 18.

The show started with a bang but slowly eroded with Lena Headey. It should have been Terminator 2: The John Connor Chronicles with more scenes about Cameron's and Catherine Weaver's evolution and support for humanity. The Lena Headey (Sarah Connor story line) didn't make sense and were always doom and gloom.

it sucks that the secdond season ended the way it did too with john running off to the future like that, leaving me to wonder where they were going with that story idea.

ah well.

They can't cancel the show with the way Season 2 ended! It made fans of the show, like me, hyped up for season 3. At least let the TV series end right. And I agree with Avian005. Who knows what could happen.

I finally had a good show to watch on Friday nights (with Dollhouse afterwards). FOX and ABC have been pissing me off lately. When ABC canceled Life on Mars I nearly had a heart attack.

The show CAN'T end yet. Not like this. They have to end this story so that it will fit within the "terminator universe." Right now, it's incoherent. They went off on a tangent thinking the story would be allowed to unfold. Fox changed their timetable on the show and screwed everything up. If the creators knew they would only have two seasons (well, 1 full season and 1/4 of a season) they would have tied it all together.

So the ratings are down. So what? Fox has an obligation to finish this storyline so it will all fit together nicely within the franchise and make sense. To whom, you may ask? To ME. Think about it: WHO watches this show? Us, the fans of the terminator franchise. WE buy tickets to go see the movies, WE buy the merchandise, WE are the reason there IS a terminator franchise!

Don't do it, FOX. Tie it all together. Entertain us. Give us,the public, what we want. Do it because it's the right thing. Do it so one day our kids will buy FOX DVDs. If you don't, it won't be John Connor who takes down Skynet. It will be the suits at FOX who destroy mankind. And for what? Who Wants to Marry a Fat White Pig?

Couldn't happen fast enough. I gave the series a chance, but apparently the writers of it forgot that it's not supposed to be boring. I liked the new direction that the series was moving in during the last few minutes of the finale, but it's too little too late. They should have been doing that story earlier on. It certainly would have been more interesting than watching Sarah Connor's fits of dementia. Where are all the terminators? The movies are better.

This is bullshit! i agree with you all, however I m writing a curtiousy letter to FOX regarding this and how it would be a mistake to drop this show. I already have over 120 people that want this show to keep going, so if you wanna help me try and save it, send me your name and phone number as well as any other friends of yours that like the show to my e-mail address Gambit587@hotmail.com before april 21st. also on the e-mail make sure you type "Terminator" in the subject.i promise i'll keep these private, but i'm building this list to send to FOX along with my letter asking the production company to keep it on for at least one more season. Thanks for your time. Wish me luck.

Ausiello apparently has written his article based on an article he denied was true last week. There are too many similarities in the two for it to be a coincidence.

Meanwhile, Josh Friedman the creator of the show, and Ashley Miller, a writer on the show have both responded to Ausiello's report stating it as untrue (well, really Josh makes a joke about it and doesn't directly state that it's untrue, but the meaning is there.) Also, Brian Austin Green, who plays Derek on the show did an interview with CBR which was posted yesterday and he stated that no decision has been made and that Fox really likes the show, so there's still some hope.

So when Ausiello quotes "everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks", he must mean that everyone except the creator, writer, and actor have known. Interesting how this is an exact quote from the same article mentioned above that Ausiello denied was true last week.

I really hope these ridiculous viral stories don't convince people that the show is actually dead. To get more accurate information, go to terminatorwiki.fox.com

I've got to be honest, and say I was disappointed with this show. It started off good, but faded badly I thought, besides the last episode of season 1. Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations, but I just thought the show lacked spark. Nice try though.

i will admit season 1 was great and thought that it was more of a drama than an action film, but the character development was well done and the story was in the right direction. Fans of the series dont shoot me, but season 2 has really gone down and they either seem desperate for a plot or keep repeating what they did to make it a success from the first season, that on top of too many characters that i really dont watch the show for. I am glad that it ended at 2 seasons rather than keep trucking for 3 more bad seasons. i really had a hope for this but it sank about half way through the second season... in fact i still have 4 weeks worth on dvr that i just havent even bothered with. but to those that really like it still i am sorry that it is getting the axe... no sarcasm intended.

I hope not, i actually love this show, if they did it i would be pissed, their is so much more than can be done with this series, if your gonna cancell it at least finish the storyline.
