The NY Post recently sat down with producer Todd Black to talk about recent rumors surrounding the pre-production decisions behind
Spider-Man 4, which is set for release on May 6th, 2011. Although he didn't reveal much, the producer did confirm that actress Kirsten Dunst will absolutely be back for the 4th installment of the franchise.
- Kirsten Dunst is definitely on board. Last month, director Sam Raimi was quoted as saying he didn't know if the actor was going to sign up to play Mary Jane again, but it appears that she has.
- Contrary to online rumors, it doesn't look like the script will feature a wedding between Mary Jane and Peter Parker. Black had no knowledge of that subplot.
- Also contrary to online rumors (but really, are there any other kind?), the villain will not be Morbius the vampire. Sure, vampires are hot, but Black squashed that rumor completely.
- As for who the villain will be, Black had this to say: "We're just coming up with who the villain's going to be now. We'll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it'll be a big part of New York."
Black also confirmed that the villain will be one of Spidey's foes from the comic, not a character invented for the film. And we can assume it'll be one of the hero's classic rogues. Just four movies in, the producers won't be resorting to B-listers.
So as far as villains go, who do you suspect? Who do think the filmmakers should bring to the screen? After their conversation,
The NY Post is guessing it'll either be
Kraven the Hunter or
The Kingpin. What do you think?

I think he should have put in more villains, maybe two. It worked for the last film and it is a different approach as compared to the other superhero movies we see.
Sorry it has to be said
I don't want Kraven, but since you asked...Gerard Butler
Just wishful thinking.
We're not "haters," editboy. From my point of view, it would serve the story.
I've posted my thoughts about this subject many times before, so just refer back to some old Spidey posts if you want to see why I'm right
So flush all of that down the toilet and let's get back to Raimi's complete and total vision!
Kirsten dunst was always a bad choice, and thank god they didnt go the vampire way, i would have lost complete interest in spiderman then.
i wonder where we would be now if spiderman 3 kicked ass
But The Kingpin...I thought about what Sam R. said about Spider-man 4. It going to be different. Source is comic character. So...imagine something like this: Spider-man stops Kingpin's little gangs and other criminals (Shocker alert!). And now The Kingpin is all mad about it...so he organize his men and they capture Spider-man,they have they little revange on him for all the things he did and they take off his mask. That could work! But it needs great actors becouse this would be a serious shit. My opinion. Imagine...
and for kirsten dunst coming back, that's good, i think she did a good job in the last ones
and Lizard is fine with me. I say have a small part of Cletus Cassidy while being a murderer etc, in the background. keep it so the audience will be like "why is this guy here". Have Lizard take the main spotlight... for a villain at least. bring Spiderman back to redemption and wisecracking. And at the end, the epic ending where the symbiont mess falls on Cassidy. Whoo!! Awesome.
Lizard. Say no more. LIZARD!
Time for some spider vs reptilian action! :P
it should go down like this. Dr. Connors turns into the Lizard after screwing around with some of that symbiote from the last film.
at the end, Connors lives and the symbiote attaches itself to some new guy. in the fifth film, he becomes carnage.
if that was the hint from a Big part of New York.
Or Kingpin. And will it be the same guy ferm Daredevil. Dat be kool.
