Kirsten Dunst Definitely Back for Spider-man 4

Source:  NY Post
The NY Post recently sat down with producer Todd Black to talk about recent rumors surrounding the pre-production decisions behind Spider-Man 4, which is set for release on May 6th, 2011. Although he didn't reveal much, the producer did confirm that actress Kirsten Dunst will absolutely be back for the 4th installment of the franchise.

- Kirsten Dunst is definitely on board. Last month, director Sam Raimi was quoted as saying he didn't know if the actor was going to sign up to play Mary Jane again, but it appears that she has.

- Contrary to online rumors, it doesn't look like the script will feature a wedding between Mary Jane and Peter Parker. Black had no knowledge of that subplot.

- Also contrary to online rumors (but really, are there any other kind?), the villain will not be Morbius the vampire. Sure, vampires are hot, but Black squashed that rumor completely.

- As for who the villain will be, Black had this to say: "We're just coming up with who the villain's going to be now. We'll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it'll be a big part of New York."

Black also confirmed that the villain will be one of Spidey's foes from the comic, not a character invented for the film. And we can assume it'll be one of the hero's classic rogues. Just four movies in, the producers won't be resorting to B-listers.

So as far as villains go, who do you suspect? Who do think the filmmakers should bring to the screen? After their conversation, The NY Post is guessing it'll either be Kraven the Hunter or The Kingpin. What do you think?

I hope if they do use the Lizard, he's not in all CG.

If there's only one villain, it has to be The Lizard. If two villains, I guess Kraven would be the other.

I fucking hate this girl(only when she acts in spiderman films). But we cant change her now,she has been in all of them.
I think he should have put in more villains, maybe two. It worked for the last film and it is a different approach as compared to the other superhero movies we see.

Erm erm yeah no kraven without Lizard.

Sorry it has to be said

What I really want to know is, who the heck is Todd Black and why'd he allofasudden get the Producer gig? What happened to Kevin Feige and Laura Ziskin?

Also if they do have Kraven, tell me the costume will be more... you know? Reserved. And who would play him?

The only way I could have seen Morbius in the fourth installment was if the only 3 villains were Morbius, Kingpin, and the Lizard. Morbius wasn't born a vampire. He was scientifically made into one, which brings in why the professor should be the other villain. The last time we saw him he was left with some of the symbiote (sorry if this is spelled wrong). Which, if I remember correctly, is used to restore his arm and eventually changes him into the Lizard. In the fourth movie after Spidey stops the Lizard and helps the professor become normal again he can help Spider-man come up with the syrum for Morbius to change back into human form. But it doesn't (and Morbius breaks out like Sandman did at the end of part 3), leaving the possibility for a spin-off movie about Morbius. Then Raimi will be able to take that spin-off and make THAT MOVIE a horror one. Kingpin would have been in the movie just making things very difficult for Spidey to get things done.

Just wishful thinking.

It's the SINISTER Six, and if they we're gonna do that, wait til, ya know, the sixth movie...it makes sense.

We're not "haters," editboy. From my point of view, it would serve the story.

I've posted my thoughts about this subject many times before, so just refer back to some old Spidey posts if you want to see why I'm right

Despite all the Kirsten Dunst HATERS on here (...amazing), I'm really glad she's back!! And I'm sure Sam Raimi will make a great choice as far as who the new villian will be. Yes, definitely someone from the CLASSIC rogues gallery. Venon's inclusion in "3" by the studio's hand nearly killed the franchise!!!

So flush all of that down the toilet and let's get back to Raimi's complete and total vision!

It has to be between Lizard and Kingpin. Lizard and Spider-man battling it out under the city sewers, Kingpin the crime lord of new york it all works out. Kraven the hunter(to me) could be a little far fetched, Carnage could be it.

gald shes bak and even more glad tht morbius the vampire isn't the villian there are so many better villains they can use why wud they wanna show us sumthin we've seen done many times before before?

they should definitly do the lizard as thats a plot they been building up from the start an eventually it will become an anti climax if thay wait any longer, but i really wanna carnage.
Kirsten dunst was always a bad choice, and thank god they didnt go the vampire way, i would have lost complete interest in spiderman then.
i wonder where we would be now if spiderman 3 kicked ass

Good, now they can kill her off and we never have to worry about it in the future.

since this is the 4th film, then they need to use three new villains, make Spiderman work his ass off this time, maybe use Kingpin as the main villain, then throw in maybe Lizard or Scorpion and bring back Sandman early and let Spiderman get rid of his ass...also glad to see Kirsten is back...too late in the film series to bring in someone else as MJ...and they should let thm get married, it would put more pressure on Spiderman to protect his own family and everyone else...can't wait

Ou,yeah...I forgot to add that The Kingpin has to be very intense and very angry with Spider-man. But he is not that stupid...In my story he plays a little game with Peter Parker after he finds out who he is. So he hit Spider-man where it hurts the most...He starts to kidnap MJ,aunt May and that blond chick...aaaand starts killing them one by one driving Spider-man mad. Here it is! Great story with The Dark Knight tone. I think I will make a comic out of this...hmmmm,maybe...

hehe.......NO. No six without doc Ock. No Carnage(the are not ready for him, they would fuck him up). Kraven is good if that brings Lizard and other "animals" like scorpion, rhino, volture. I can imagine Electro in this movie but that is a cheap move if they bring him in becouse every story with Electro is the same shit but a different package. Electro wants more power so he pumps all electricity from the city and he becomes lightning-man and at the end he sparks out in water or something. buhu
But The Kingpin...I thought about what Sam R. said about Spider-man 4. It going to be different. Source is comic character. So...imagine something like this: Spider-man stops Kingpin's little gangs and other criminals (Shocker alert!). And now The Kingpin is all mad about it...so he organize his men and they capture Spider-man,they have they little revange on him for all the things he did and they take off his mask. That could work! But it needs great actors becouse this would be a serious shit. My opinion. Imagine...

BD that's exactly what the comment means. I gave MW this scoop and just know that the villain relating to NYC means the myth that gators are in the sewers is hinting towards The Lizard. Also keep in mind the other news that you've heard before. Raimi has said that were he to direct, he would bring Baker back to portray Connors' alter ego. Well....

June 7th, 2009 10:54pm
The Kingpin as a lead in for the Daredevil reboot would be cool.

June 7th, 2009 10:05pm
Kraven wasn't a bad idea, maybe that should be good for a more darker tone of the movie...but if that's not the one for this movie, i really would like the lizard or the scorpion, but as a second characters, because as the main one meybe it could be mysterio or the kingping using the other villains...well who knows, i Just expect no more stupid saturday night fever dancing scene in the streets thus time

and for kirsten dunst coming back, that's good, i think she did a good job in the last ones

this sounds like there brining out the lizard. Possibly Kraven the hunter he be a kool villain as well. As for Kirsten ehh kinda knew she would be back since Sam and Tobey came back. Thank you for not bringing Morbius into this and as for Kingpin I really dont think they will bring him out.

Honestly, I think Mj is hot at times, but her whining, and skinny backbone, and all the kidnapping all the time... it gets old. So personally, please kill he off in this one.

and Lizard is fine with me. I say have a small part of Cletus Cassidy while being a murderer etc, in the background. keep it so the audience will be like "why is this guy here". Have Lizard take the main spotlight... for a villain at least. bring Spiderman back to redemption and wisecracking. And at the end, the epic ending where the symbiont mess falls on Cassidy. Whoo!! Awesome.

I think the villian for this one will be Mysterio. Think of how cool of a movie and all the different things they could do with him! I think for Spider-Man they should do a thing with the Avengers or X-Men where they help Peter battle the Sinister Six.

Yeah! Continuity rules! :P

Lizard. Say no more. LIZARD!

Time for some spider vs reptilian action! :P

ok
it should go down like this. Dr. Connors turns into the Lizard after screwing around with some of that symbiote from the last film.
at the end, Connors lives and the symbiote attaches itself to some new guy. in the fifth film, he becomes carnage.

DEAR GOD NOT ELECTRO

if that was the hint from a Big part of New York.

Or Kingpin. And will it be the same guy ferm Daredevil. Dat be kool.

could the big in new york comment be referring to New York always bein rumored to have alligators in the sewers, essentially big lizards, otherwise the Lizard. ppl already said the lizard, but i figure maybe that is wut the comment means.
