NBC Developing The Office Spin-Off

Source:  TV Guide
Multiple sources have confirmed to 's Michael Ausiello that NBC is developing an episode of its hit comedy The Office that would introduce several new characters who would then be spun off into a new series.

Unlike ABC's recent Grey's Anatomy spin-off Private Practice -- which moved Kate Walsh from Seattle to Los Angeles to helm the new show -- the proposed Office 2 is not expected to include any of the original's core cast members.

Producers are in the process of casting for a "name" to headline the potential new show.

Yeah, this is a bad idea. Focus all the attention on what you have going. Hopefully it will have different writers so they won't be spreading themselves too thin. I would hate to see the original series suffer because people will be juggling two shows.

This will flounder miserably. Look at Joey and others like that. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE The Office, and introducing new characters is fine by me, but I will NEVER watch a spin-off show without any of the characters from this version.
