View-Master Film in the Works

Brad Caleb Kane (Fringe) has announced that he will be writing a movie based on the View-Master, the popular children's toy that has been around since 1939.

According to GreekGeek.de, Kane Twittered that after he's done writing Columbia Pictures' sci-fi action-adventure Uprising for director Wolfgang Petersen, he will start the project for DreamWorks Pictures.

Kane says Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are also involved on the project, which is described "like the old 80's Amblin movies: Goonies, Young Sherlock... In that vein."

No production date has been set.

This film is going to be a documentary. It will discuss the inner mechanics of the View-Master and how we see the world through various colors and images. It will be a play on the famous French film La Mastere Viemere.
