Anna Paquin to Return for X-Men: First Class?

Source:  IGN UK
Anna PaquinCould we see the same mutant from the first three films in an upcoming spin-off? At least one actress is up to come back. IGN UK recently spoke with Anna Paquin, who was promoting her HBO series True Blood, and the actress revealed she would like to return as the mutant Rogue for X-Men: First Class.

"Absolutely. Yeah," she told us. "I would hope I could do a little bit more action next time, though. I kind of find it ironic that I did three big action films and did, actually, no action whatsoever. I mean I got some really amazing emotional story moments, but I didn't really get to do the physical stuff."

It was said that the film, which is currently being written by The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz, would feature younger mutant characters like her Rogue along with Colossus, Angel, Jubilee and Shadowcat.

We'll certainly keep you posted on any developments regarding X-Men: First Class as soon as we have more information.

Yes, they are making Magneto and after Wolverine, I'm not that hyped for it...wasn't in the first place, actually.

I don't want this movie to happen. I said it many times. "Stop existing right now!!!" and O.C.?.......For all of you who expect this movie: You can expect "Heroes" in X-men mansion. Not characters,of course, but those teenager relationships and emotional things with adopting to their powers and stuff like that.........If you don't really like this crap of thing raise your hand.

i've got to be honest i didnt like any of the x men movies, including the spin off, dont get me wrong the fx were as good as other summer blockbusters, but they all seemed they were big movie vehicles for big actors and they managed to fit a x men story line around them, well half a story line, like the pheonix plot line.
In my opinion they should start again with all of it, wait a few more years and come back bigger and better before more rubbish spin offs, probably a bit harsh

I remember seeing a mutant in bed and Patrick's voice came out. That proves his soul, his very essence was transferred but not his body.

Todd, Xavier is still alive. You need to catch the scene after the credits, with Moira.

First Class is set before x-men 1,2,3 and Brian is interested again to make a fourth outing, to continue the current story orc and I think to set things right once again with the disaster of 3.

Anna's character just didn't come into being in that early stage, though it would be interesting to see since Patrick would have to come back as Xavier once again.

In the current series of films, Xavier died at the end of the film how can they bring Patrick back for that unless it is a clone or better yet have Cable set things right without telling them who or what he is.

What im thinking they mean by First Class is the class that came after the X-men in the movies we saw so her coming back makes sense, but if they're saying a young Jean a young beast and so on and so forth i dont see how she can be in the movie...and yes i 2 was waiting for her transition into becoming an X-men as well as my boy colosus and Jubilee but that never happend the danger room scene was the only time we got to see them do anything they gave Shadowcat more action then them and thats sad when u think about it she was Juno!!!! anyway and to the comment about ill watch as long as singer doesnt dorect it?!?!? what are u on crack?? Singer brought the ppl to life in the first 2 its not his fault X3 blew donkey balls well maybe it is he shouldve stuck around and told DC to go fuck themselves with that shitty Superman story

They just need to reboot the whole thing and not jack up the characters.

yeah i don't get how rogue could be a part of the first class since she didnt come around until years and years and years after the school was founded and established. i mean come on already.

for me x-men is just a lost intrest, to tell you the truth after the 3rd x-men and wolverine, nothing more could make x-men the thing it was in the start. just for fun, nothing to wait for..

I just wish she was in more projects, period. She's hot, and she would've played a far better Amadala if you asked me :P

they should stop destroying any credibility left in these characters.
This project should be left alone.
WRITER OF THE OC??? come'on this is going to be DAWSONS CREEK meets XMEN!

Yeah that's one part that I definitely agree with Paquin on. I loved her Rogue portrayal, but was so disappointed that the only action scene she got was in the Danger Room sequence in X3. AT THE VERY BEGINNING!! From the moment she said "When do we get uniforms?" in X2, I was waiting for her transition as an X-Man in X3 and it never happened. Instead they chose her Cure story arc and that was a lost cause. She could have added a lot to the story if they would have pursued her comic incarnation. The problem with X3, was, however, too many mutants. It's why the Dark Phoenix plotline was underdone.

On a final note, she looks hot in that uniform and she would be the shining star in "X-Men: First Class" if she came back. Also Jubilee deserves her shine after cameos in each of the 3 films. I was also waiting for her transition. Her deleted scene in X2 was sweet! Please, Schwartz, bring these characters back! The young X-kids are now the New X-Men! That would bring the fans of the series back and guarantee this film to not flop!

Anna Paquin, the reason you didn't get any action seens is because you're ugly and chubby. The photo in this article is the most photoshopped, air brushed joke I've ever seen, that's not what she looks like at all. Do a side by side with Rogue from the comics and a shot of Anna Paquin on google and you'll see what I'm talking about.

oh man I got my facts wrong. I thought X-Men First Class was supposed to be centered on the older mutants in the early days like Cyclops and Jean Grey. I didnt think that was such a good idea but I like this concept much better. good line up of mutants too.

thank u comrade, u stole the words from my mouth. Wolverine isn't the X-men, and he is over exposed right now anyway, as long as Shawn Ashmore comes back as Iceman/Bobby Drake i'm good. it woulds hurt if Ellen Page came back, or the guy who was Colussus, or Ben Foster as Angel either, that should all happen.

this has potential but with the O.C. guy writing it might just be love triangles and crap. i want Sentinels as bad guys.
