Guillermo del Toro and Peter Jackson are gearing up to bring
The Hobbit and its
sequel to theaters and they recently gave a few details on the films.
Empire recently spoke with del Toro and Jackson, who revealed that the second film would not bridge the 60-year gap between the films and
The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring.
"We've decided to have
The Hobbit span the two movies, including the White Council and the comings and goings of Gandalf to Dol Guldur," says Del Toro.
"We decided it would be a mistake to try to cram everything into one movie," adds Jackson. "The essential brief was to do
The Hobbit, and it allows us to make
The Hobbit in a little more style, if you like, of the [LOTR] trilogy."

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates...
But I definitely share your enthusiasm for the Hobbit films. I'm glad they decided to span the book through two films.
Apart from reading the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings series, I have no other knowledge of Middle Earth. Where did they take the information on Gandalf, the White Council, ect.?
And for kicks, here's the two film titles:
First Film: THERE
Second Film: AND BACK AGAIN
Only joking. Can't Wait.
Also, though information on the Hobbit films is wonderful, I'd love to hear more on the Lovely Bones. Step it up, Jackson... :)
