Fox News recently caught up with George Lucas to discuss all things Indiana Jones related, including his plans for the future of the franchise.
"I haven't even told Steven or Harrison this," he said. "But I have an idea to make Shia [LeBeouf] the lead character next time and have Harrison [Ford] come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out.
"And it's not like Harrison is even old. I mean, he's 65 and he did everything in this movie. The old chemistry is there, and it's not like he's an old man. He's incredibly agile; he looks even better than he did 20 years ago, if you ask me."

you could think of any iconic figure in history and that is what keeps them alive and in the conscience of america and the world for that matter is they keep growing and keep coming back to give us another adventure... whether people enjoy it or not.
as far as titling goes... i am not sure if they would go with "mutt williams and the fountain of youth"...lol... which btw love the title friend... i think they would make it more accessible with "indiana jones jr. and.... blah blah" so that the public is aware the type of film it would be. anyhow just a few more thoughts on the subject
This would've been a good idea 16yrs ago to release #4 had they not had their creative differences, despite that they went with the original idea in the first place. Then they could've done #5 with Indy for a '95 release, and rounded off the series elegantly. #4 is pretty much an advertisement for the trilogy, though is still a great addition to the IJ franchise.
He is a hot commotity right now, but i really dont want to see some knockoff continue... what does indiana do... give him the hat and whip at the end of part 4.
I can see Harrison limping away from restless natives now. And taking Gerotal breaks every shot!
I think its time for a petition if Lucas decides to go through with it.
Somebody must stop this guy. I mean, I love what he created but now he's talking nonsense. Indiana Jones is the one and only and it will be very stupid to make him a secondary character. WTF. I want to see the next Indy as much as anyone but if things keep going in the direction Lucas is saying it will completely destroy a, so far, excellent franchise.
