Star Trek was just released on DVD and
Blu-ray on November 17 and to celebrate Paramount held a gala DVD release party bash at the historic Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. Among the plethora of celebrities and
Star Trek stars were Zoe Saldana, who plays Uhura in the film, and she spoke to us about where she would like to see her character go in
Star Trek 2, especially with the unique relationship between her, Spock and Kirk.
"Yeah, it's quite a love triangle," Saldana said. "I'm not really sure where that relationship will go in the
sequel, but it will be fun to explore."
Saldana also spoke out about getting into some more of the action pieces in the
sequel as well.
"It would be a lot of fun to have more of the physical element to the character in the new film. I'd love to se her kick some butt."
The actress also spoke about her role of Neytiri in the upcoming mega-blockbuster
Avatar, which is set for release on December 18.
"This was truly a one-of-a-kind experience," Saldana said about James Cameron's upcoming film. "It's so hard to prepare for something like this because I'm not playing a human, I'm playing a character that doest exist."
She also discussed the rigorous training she had to undergo for the role as well.
"I've never been so exhausted in my life," Saldana said. "It was seven months of training, excrutiating training, but it was well worth it."
