Tom Cruise Working on Mission: Impossible 4?

Source:  Ain't It Cool News
It seems Tom Cruise is ready and willing to return to IMF in the near future. An Ain't It Cool News reader sent over some info regarding Tom Cruise working on a fourth Mission: Impossible film. Here's what the reader had to say below.

Just a tidbit regarding everyone's favourite operating thetan...

Tom Cruise was on the popular SMAP SMAP program here in Japan, and when asked about the Mission: Impossible franchise he revealed that he has started work on the fourth installment...he's working on the story right now.

He also commented that during his visit here he'd been thinking about how to stage a big action sequence in downtown Tokyo..dunno if he was just being polite, but sounds like a cool setting for the series, what?

Tom seemed like an all-round nice guy, by the by.

If you use this call me supastring

Of course, this hasn't been officially announced as of yet, but we'll be sure to keep you posted on any developments surrounding a fourth Mission: Impossible film.

Valkyrie was pretty good, Bryan Singer and Cruise make a good team

The third was fun. I love the juxtaposition of a really serious spy theme with ridiculous off the wall action and gimmicks (the Vatican break-in was priceless).

Opening shoot, pans in on Cruise and wife having dinner when angry scientologist breaks in and murders wife because Cruise's donations have gone down since the economy has went bust. J/K... I don't mind a fourth. I didn't think the third was great, but certainly had the best cast. I'm guessing Cruise basically has to do this since it's a successful franchise and he needs to make up some of the overhead from Valkyrie. I know it's doing good business overseas, but he has some ground to make up for that one... note to self: still have to rent/see Valkyrie when it comes out on DVD.

I loved MI:3. It was very annoying that they stopped making the series precisely when they had made a great one!
