Yeah I see that now, thanks for clearing it up in the way you guys did, and not being douche bags about it. Either way I'm interested to see what he does, and even though his style is unique, I think his adaptation of it needs to have a good medium point, like add your influences but don't let it take over the project.

The problem is that most people think the hobbit is supposed to be just like lord of the rings when in reality it isn't. Read the hobbit and the lord of the rings. The only way you can see that it's ok to not copy everything PJ did.

and nothing against ur opinion but even if Del Toro doesn't step out of his box, so to speak, i would still be very happy with the movie, i love his style. and the hobbit doesn't have to match perfectly with LOTR cuz they r very different feeling stories.

Its sounds like this is going to look like a typical Del Torro movie and not the Hobbit. Sorry if you don't agree with my opinion, but I see it straying already. Thats one of the things I dreaded when I heard he was directing this. I was hoping he would be able do something outside of himself if that makes any sense. I don't, maybe it comes out looking cool, who's to say, I just hope he creates some sort of variety, and doesn't make every last drop of it 'majestic'. And I'm sorry, but Del Torro saying beautiful is good and ugly is bad, is the dumbest shit I ever heard. They should be applied where fit, you can't have all your eggs in one basket and I do believe something can be ugly and still emote intelligence. I don't, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember there being some written rule about ugly=stupid. Either way lets see.
