Marvel Studios has confirmed that it is bringing
The Avengers to the big screen. According to
The Hollywood Reporter, it will be the next comic that gets theatrical treatment.
The Incredible Hulk's Zak Penn is writing the screenplay. What he is currently trying to figure out is which characters to include in the script. Since 1963, many Marvel heavy-hitters have joined and left the group.
Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man and Wasp, Hulk, Hawkeye and the Scarlet Witch have all appeared in the comic. The project might be used to help launch Captain America's movie career, which faltered sometime back with a film by Albert Pyun.
The search for a director is about to begin. Casting is another concern. It is very possible that Robert Downey Jr. might join the project as
Iron Man, and Eric Roth could also reprise his role as
The Incredible Hulk. That would be a fun movie, wouldn't it?
