In a story from
The Hollywood Reporter there are some interesting updates to a bunch of DC Comics properties. At present there are currently more DC Comics adaptations happening than at any other point since the company was bought by Warner Bros. in 1969.
Currently,
The Losers will be starting principal photography this week in Puerto Rico.
Jonah Hex just finished production in Louisiana.
The Green Lantern recently reported that Ryan Reynolds will play the popular superhero. Fox also picked up the television series
Human Target and lastly, DC set up
Red at Summit Entertainment.
"One of the things that has differentiated us for most of the last 20 years is the depth of our library and the depth of the creative material that we've put out and the opportunities that creates for other media," stated DC Comics president Paul Levitz.
It looks like this past fall, the studio hired three of DC's top writers -- Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison and Marv Wolfman -- to act as consultants and writers for its superhero line of movies. Due to this, the studio was again put in charge of projects being done "by such producers as Charles Roven (
The Flash) and Akiva Goldsman (
Teen Titans)."
This brought about a new treatment (from Johns) for
The Flash which is currently being written by Dan Mazeau. Johns will also produce this film.
In addition to this, Warner Bros. is out to writers for pitches on
Adam Strange and
Aquaman. These films will be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio through his Appian Way production company.
Other projects in development are:
Bizarro Superman which is being penned by David Howard and Robert Gordon (
Galaxy Quest); a
Constantine sequel; two Green Arrow projects that will be done at the same time, one is an origin story and the other is a prison-set piece titled
Super Max; lastly, there's talk of a
Shazam movie which Pete Segal will be directing.
Warner Bros. and DC are still trying to crack to script code on a
Wonder Woman feature, as well as a new
Superman film. Lastly, it appears that there is nothing really happening on a sequel to
The Dark Knight at present although director Christopher Nolan wants to do another film.

Are you some sort of poof?
He doesn't just "run fast," ya know?
and pfffffff The flash is one of the worst super hero ever , i smell a big flop if they ever go tru with it
come on make PREACHER already and wouldnt mind if it would turn into a t.v show again on HBO or SHOWTIME instead of a movie
Also if any ones got any SCRIPTS that they'd like me to look at, i also do SCRIPT doctouring and revision and story development.
Definately Preds, i'd like a look at that Predators draft as well, i'm intrigued on the film as well.
How is your draft to Predators & Batman 3, going?
ATM, i'm still expanding on my Batman universe, and for the last time people's it's not a Batman 3, it's my own universe, lol.
Similiar to Nolan's but different, it's mine :D
Currently took a break from it though, to finish off some other stuff like
'Live & Death (Bond 24),'
'Blood Brothers (A LP musical)
Moonwalk: The MJ Sociological Thriller (MJ Musical)
&
Jack50n
Also currently been working on a product called, 'Sinner.' I want to turn it into a comic book character and either sell him to Marvel or DC, or maybe Vertigo.
It's a pretty religious book, so far only done chapter one, where he fights a half breed vampire/werewolf. But obviously it has to get much bigger to make a brilliant story arc :)
Also got 'THE GREEN HORNET' and a draft to 'Dragon Ball Z,' which i'm not 100% sure on its authenticity.
At the moment I cant get too excited not knowing the cast.
Thor
Green Lantern
Supermax
A Nightmare On Elm St
World's Finest
Trinity (Superman, Wonder Woman & Batman)
And a treatment to Scream 4 (not finished though :(
In brief if they don't DRAMTICALLY IMPORVISE the first drafted SCRIPT, then Green Lantern will suck with its dialogue which is more cheesier than Feta Cheese.
Ok i've never heard of Adam Strange so sorry to explode everyone's bubbles, i assumed that because they had the same surnames, that Adam Strange and Dr Strange were one and the same.
But definately gonna have to check it out.
I also agree with Vis that only the important superheroes need their own films and crossovers don't always work to be honest, and without the solo films such as Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Capt America etc, making massive build up anticipation to what will become the avengers movie, then i don't think people would be anticipating it as much.
Think of it in the same perspective as the ending to 'Jason Goes To Hell.' Where Freddy's hand comes up and drags Jason's mask to hell, in the last few seconds of the film, from then on we knew a FVJ movie was possibly in the works or on the way.
Also agree with Vis as having Shia Lebeouf playing Wally West/Flash, just watch his character role from Even Stevens.
But i don't agree with Daniel Craig as Aquaman, unless his a mean motherfucker, my only worry with Aquaman is them making it too kiddish.
Also you guys are babbling on about crossovers...Have any of you read the SCRIPTS to
'TRINITY' or 'World's Finest.'
World's Finest was good but Trinity sucked despite that it consisted of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
And for the random guy that asked what i've done i'm assuming that is because i may have hurt your feelings on what i stated... But you asked so here goes.
I've done multiple short films including 2 20minute short called 'Prey' & 'Guardian Angel' (In which Guradian Angel features a track for a proposed Wonder Woman song).
I've done a few adverts.
A ton of music videos i've worked on and worked with the likes of Steve Huang & N-Dubz.
Currently i'm writing a proposed SCRIPTUAL treatment for Bond 24 entitled 'Life & Death' (currently a working title).
I've planned out the film, and sent off the ending to EON productions and to my surprise Barabara is very pleased with it, especially the ending's cliffhanger
The only major problem i';m facing is who will sing the theme song, so far the top contenders are 'Duffy,' 'Tulisa Constovalas,' 'Beyonce Knowles' and lastly but not least 'Jordin Sparks.'
The song is meant to be that in the same style and influence as 'Shirley Bassett's - Diamonds Are Forever,' possibly a bit more modernised with a bit of Greek fusion, since the film is set to be in Greece, Turkey, Egypt & London.
Otherwise, I can't give a fuck.
- Wonder Woman (dev. hell)
- Superman sequel/reboot (dev. hell)
- Batman sequel (unconfirmed)
- The Green Lantern (June 17, 2011)
- The Flash (dev. hell)
- Green Arrow (the origin story, the other one is called "Green Arrow: Escape From SuperMax")
- Aquaman (a damn good TV series which never got picked up by CW was released online, and I think they should follow that formula)
Are you fucking kidding me?
It'll never happen.
No, because that would suck.
"Okay and about Constantine, he won't be involved in JL like nolan's universe way to intense."
No shit.
"Daniel Craig as Aquaman."
Good idea, but he refused to do Thor because he didn't want to be two big characters(Bond and Thor)...but I wouldn't count Aquaman as "big" so who knows.
As for the JLA predicament, check out my last comment.
And instead of crossovers trying to compete, why don't JL and Avengers just team up for a JL/Avengers film after a while. It could very well be the biggest film in history.
