Keira Knightley Will Not Return for Pirates of the Carribbean 4

Source:  Moviefone
It seems that the latest swashbuckling adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow won't have the franchise's fair maiden. Moviefone spoke with Keira Knightley, who was promoting her new film Edge of Love, and she revealed she won't be returning for Pirates of the Caribbean 4.

It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don't think I need to go there again. I think that it's done. But I'm very excited to see the next one. And he is so wonderful in that character. I think it'll be wonderful.

We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further news for Pirates of the Caribbean 4 as soon as we have more information.

It sucks she won't be in it but it is also good. They do need to move forward and have a new hot actress play a new role. If it is about going to the fountain of youth there can be plenty of actresses they could employ to play a new character.

Some of you guys are hilarious when you cry "Leave it at three" or "They shouldn't make a fourth Pirates". Each film grossed over 300 million dollars! Do you actually think studios are gonna leave that franchise alone while its STILL raking in the money? If the third Pirates movie had grossed... lets say... 140 million, it would have been considered a disappointing failure. But it grossed $309 million.... a fourth Pirates was pretty much guaranteed. You want to stop the franchise? Then don't go see the fourth installment and make it fail. hahahahahaha Like THAT is gonna happen.

You guys are all talk. When the fourth one comes out, you WILL be in line (just like me) on opening night.

As for Knightley not being in it... that would be a good thing. Its time we move on to other adventures that DON'T involve Will and Elizabeth. Jack Sparrow makes the film... not Will and Elizabeth.

She's a great actress i really don't get the hate for her. People think she's anorexic but don't seem to realize that anorexic and skinny are two very differant things. Keira's said multiple times that she doesn't anorexia she's just naturally skinny.

I sort of feel her storyline came to an end as well. As great as she was, and as big of a character she was becoming (the Pirate King), I'd rather see some new characters instead.

I imagine that's what we'll get too. With the assumed storyline of Sparrow & Barbossa both after the Fountain of Youth, I'd figure there'd be a new villain/character to go with it. With Jones, Beckett, the Kraken, and Calypso gone, they'll need a new antagonist.

Good, because now that she has lost half her body weight, she now could double for a Friggin'scarecrow or play a belieavable crack-whore, she used to be beautiful......

Johnny Depp and Orlando are better actors than Keira. Actually she's not that good an actor, she plays the whinny bitch in everything that she touches. I call it, a spoiled brat that gets everything from her father or mother.
I've seen a few things when she was a kid actor, untalented. It's known that she gets temper tantrums if she doesn't get her way.

Okay let me clear a few things up. 1: this has indeed been known for quite some time now, 2: the dude who wrote this article spelled Caribbean wrong, 3: this will most likely not be called Pirates 4, if anything this is basically a spin-off from the other three, 4: after the credits of Pirates 3 we see Elizabeth and her 9 year old son waiting for Will to return from fairying souls to the other side (because he's only allowed to walk on land once every 10 years, which really sucks for him) which leads to 5: since Will now has the job of Davy Jones he cannot come ashore once every 10 years because if he does then he'd become just like Jones, so Orlando is out of the picture and if he isn't there than Elizabeth wouldn't either so I don't really understand why some of you guys are complaining and hoping for her to return. I'm not all for a 4th movie but as long as Gore Verbinski is back behind the camera then it should be fine. And yes Johnny Depp is definately returning, I mean heck this whole thing was his idea anyway, he was begging for another film becaused he loved the character of Jack Sparrow so much. Anyway Keira will definately not be returning and neither will Orlando Bloom.

Well since her and Orlando Bloom's characters are intertwined, HE better not return either, which BTW just makes for a crappy movie lest they can conjure some better supporting cast for Sparrow.

Gotta love the stars who can pick and choose their roles....especially those whose career could be over very quickly. Let's be honest...Is Keira ever going to be a hit without Pirate's....probably not. So stick with the role that makes you famous...stick with the role that makes you alot of money. If Johnny Depp can do it and he is a million times more gifted of an actor than she is, way busier as well...then there is no excuse...shut your pie hole and sign on the line that is dotted and make the movie....

My $.02

What started off as an excellent series soon sunk like one of its ships. Frankly, I never liked Keira Knightley because she has very little range as an actress. Almost all her films are period pieces, and she's just annoying on screen, always playing the damsel in distress. This series could do without her. But I sincerely hope they follow through on that Fountain of Youth plot. As long as Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow is there, I'm there, and he has so much charisma on screen. Truth is, Orlando and Keira, well, don't. I do think that having a 4th one is pushing it, and the 3rd one was just muddled and actually required research outside the film to understand what the heck was going on. First one was incredible. If only they kept on makin' 'em like that.

Pypebomb, for what my likes in movies are, pirates tops any other trilogy I have seen but dunno if you're gonna like it that much. again this is only my choice of movies so i am technically waiting for this pretty badly. in fact I am basing my name right now on the first letters of what the fourth pirates could be about (FOY:fountain of youth) if you haven't noticed that. I really liked her preformance and can't wait for the fourth to come out.

I'm not usually okay with actors leaving a franchise, but this is a good thing. A whole new story can be formed.

As long as Johnny Depp comes back, along with Geoffrey Rush.

I think it's cool. It would be interesting if they take all these old characters out and leave only Jack Sparrow, and make it an entirely new adventure with him. :)
