Are They Rebooting Daredevil with Katee Sackhoff as Typhoid Mary?

Source:  Golden Apple
Katee Sackoff as Typhoid Mary?Right now, it's speculative at best, but due to some recent rumblings, it seems Fox may be setting up to reboot the Daredevil franchise, with none other than Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) set to play Typhoid Mary, an enemy and former lover of Daredevil.

Los Angeles-based Golden Apple Comics is reporting that Sackhoff recently came in and grabbed every comic should could find featuring Typhoid Mary.

So we got a little visit in our comic shop last week by Katee Sackhoff, also known as Starbuck for her role on BSG. She proceeded to grab all the Typhoid Mary comics we had and has hopes to get a part for a marvel movie...

Nothing has been announced by Marvel Studios as of yet, but this could be the beginning.

Fucking stupid idea. Could they have come up with something better?

Bat & DD have shared some of the same writers(frank miller being just one of them). they have all confessed to the similarity of the characters.
This by no means an insult but a complement to the dark, brooding, depressed, yet noble qualities of the characters.

This reboot, like TDK, should have the grit of a crime story.

Providing they use the same characters which would be a bit dumb.

I say this for the reboot:

Director: Either Len Wiseman (if not working on Atlantis
OR
James McTeigue (if not working on Conan)

Daredevil: Guy Pearce
Bullseye: Ben Foster
Electra: Selma Blair.... maybe.
Typhoid Mary: Katee Sackhoff
Kingpin: timothy Olyphant (put on some weight maybe, but keep him a bit more duff than fat.

The first thing I need to hear before I get excited will be an official announcement that Mark Steven Johnson will be in no way, shape, or form attached to this film.

I don't agree with the idea of comparing Batman to Daredevil either but I can understand the average joe's point of view in linking both as being the same. Pretty common stuff to happen for anyone who hasn't had a fair exposure to comics... so yeah, Im betting Green Arrow and Hawkeye will be the same (Archers), and so will Flash and Quicksilver (Speedsters), Superman and the Sentry (Demigods) Namor and Aquaman (Seafolk) and SOOO many others (yep, including comparing the Avengers to JLA or XMEN a being simply : Super powered teams, I know it pisses off anyone with decent comic knowledge)...and yeah Batman and Daredevil too as melee/grapplers/vigilantes...guess we'll just have to be patient and bear with em'until they've got enough interest in this to figure the differences as they are....

You're right comrade, DD was poor. I know so many bums that have bad ass leather-ish devil looking costumes nowadays. He's a fucking lawyer, he has money. Yeah as a kid he was, no biggie. I think we were speaking more of costume style, and strong influence of hand to hand combat (with or without small weapons). They both are wealthy during their "crime fighting days". They both base themselves around helping the helpless. Hell's kitchen is Gotham. And just from a perpective point of view, it seemed like Hell's Kitchen was more chaotic with urban violence. Batman did have the whole city, but then again, he's Batman lol, he's popular for a reason haha. But on everything else yes there are small differences obviously. Didn't DD have a grappling hook thingy on his cane stick/shaft (lol) too?

And Green Arrow is lame btw. You might as well throw in Aquaman while your at it lol. Isn't Green Arrow more like Hawkeye or am I way off?

Thanks JA Ottley, yeah mostly not a whole lot of people saw the Director's Cut so they have no idea the potential of the movie that was shown in theaters and is on standard DVD.

I'm sick of idiots comparing Daredevil to Batman. Why? Because they both have points on their masks, and are ostensibly humans who fight crime without powers? Since the masks are a superficial difference, then you're basically just saying that all it takes to be another version of Batman is to be a human who fights crime without powers. In that case, Green Arrow is just DC's OTHER Batman, you fuckwits.

Batman-Rich kid who lost both of his saintly philanthropist parents in a chance mugging in their otherwise perfect lives.
Daredevil-Poor Kid whose mother left him of her own accord, and whose father was killed after a year of being a mob enforcer, leaving him to fend for himself with no sight and no trust fund

Batman-Trying to save an entire city.
Daredevil-Hell's Kitchen is his neighborhood. He'll help someone else if they ask, but he stays cloes to home for a reason.

Batman-Spends his days alone, shrewdly managing his business to serve his needs as as the Batman.
Daredevil-Spends his time as a lawyer, defending from within the bounds and laws of society.

Batman-bat-knives, grapple gun, explosive launcher, communicator, arm blades, sonic scrambler, ninja smoke, tranq darts, flexi-cuffs, bat-jimmies...etc.
Daredevil-Stick with rope, and a don't fuck with me attitude.

Batman-obviously gay...
Daredevil-"I'd fuck Elektra. She'd probably kill me, but I'd fuck her."

(Okay, Nolan's version isn't gay, but he's ruined for women until he throws down the mantle. If they bring in Catwoman, he would have a similar foil to Daredevil's love interests, other people in the mask business.)

Foster's not a bad choice I guess. I'm still voting for Kevin Beacon as Bullseye though...both actors are great at portraying homicidal maniacs but Beacon remains my fav. Older than Foster too I guess,..

The new DD needs to be either an unknown or someone that's in their late twenties. I think Jamie Bomber would do a good job at it since he is young enough.
That's right, I know what your thinking. I thought the same thing, at least he would be a better choice than Ben.
The all star cast of the first film, had been all right it's just Michael has muscles but Wilson Fisk is a big white fat man that brings back villains and recruits them for his own evil schemes.

best news about the REBOOT. A great character, he is indeed marvels' BATMAN. hope they do it well.
As bad as the first movie was, it was better than some of the turds laid by recent superhero films!

I heard that Typhoid Mary is going to be in the Deadpool movie. That would make sense because she is a mutant as well. But seeing that there is a DD reboot underway it would make sense that she would be in that. Also the new DD needs to be darker and much more grimmer like in the comics. I'm not saying it have to be The Dark Knight kind of feel but something more on the lines of that. Also Guy Pearce was suppose to be in the first Daredevil and don't worry Affleck will not return because he said so himself. Although I thought he did a decent job.

DareDevil in many ways is basically Marvel's Batman lol. Other than the blind superpower aspect, he's just like Batman in all other ways.

What they need to do with Daredevil is make it realistic, like Batman Begins, being that Daredevil and Batman are similar.

Actually, if anyone here likes Nip/Tuck, she is a main character in the latest/last season in Part 2 I do believe...anyway she is fucking hot and seductive in that so yeah she's got my vote lol.

I love Guy Pierce. Haven't seen him around in a long time it seems. Last good movie I saw him in was Count of Monte Cristo. I'm totally down for him as Murdock yo lol.

About Fox... they failed at Wolverine and the original DareDevil film, I do not have much faith in this reboot even though I'd love a reboot. I want somebody else to keep up the rights since all they do is cancel tv shows and fuck shit up. I would be embarassed to work for them. "Where do you work?" "Oh I work at Fox". "Oh..." *person walks away from you* lol

I agree with Comrade. The Man without Fear series was good, and I would like to see an older more experienced DD. Like a "The Dark Knight Returns" type of Daredevil, except not too old. In which case, Guy Pearce would be perfect sorta.

James Spader 23 years ago, maybe.

I want to see unknowns, and a version of Daredevil similar to the character in "The Man Without Fear" miniseries (the psychotic Elektra wouldn't be bad either).

I care that Sackhoff might be Typhoid Mary. It's an odd choice, but she is a good actor. She can't be the lead villain. That character isn't familiar to the mainstream.

I didn't really like the first DD movie, but they picked the right characters to use, at least. You need a strong villain.

I'm just glad fucking Fox isn't involved in this news.

Are we sure this isn't just some rumor to gain visibility for Golden Apple Comics?

I agree with CBF, director's cut was cool, theatrical sucked hard
