The Unit, Without a Trace, My Name Is Earl and Medium Are Cancelled

Source:  The Hollywood Reporter
While it's the time for some TV shows to be renewed, it's also the time for others to be let go. According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has canceled The Unit and Without a Trace, while NBC has canceled My Name Is Earl and Medium.

However, it seems that for My Name Is Earl and Medium, their series could continue on other networks. My Name Is Earl producers are in discussions with Fox and ABC while Medium is in discussions with CBS. CBS TV Studios produces Medium and blasted NBC for the cancellation and the manner in which they did so.

NBC chairman Ben Silverman said, regarding both of the network's canceled shows, that they were, "an aging franchise, without a single fan letter, with no passion." CBS responded with a statement that read, "NBC's cancellation of Medium is inexplicable to us," the statement said. "The ratings don't lie: Medium outperforms many of NBC's renewed shows."

Medium averaged a 2.2 rating from 7.2 million viewers this past season.

I wonder why CBS canceled The Unit, it had 9.6 million viewers. Is that not enough for them. What went wrong with the Unit, did it have the fate as the West Wing did, when NBC move it to Sunday. I liked the Unit, it was on one of the subjects I likeed which is U.S. Special Operation Forces. The last time CBS canceled a show I liked was the Agency, it was on other subject I liked the CIA and Intelligence Warfare. I just hope another network will pick up the Unit, and news on why CBS canceled it.

I wish CBS would have given The Eleventh Hour a second season, but at least they renewed The Mentalist.

i think the produces of medium made the write move by going to CBS. NBC is known for letting go of very good shows in there prime that's why i hate NBC the only show write now that keeps me tuned in on NBC is HEROES however i also hope that another network buys the rights to the show too because this show is also in it's prime and it's onlta matter of time before NBC wants to cancel it too. so ABC, FOX , CW , FX or even SCIFI if you see this post save HEROES from NBC and make more money for your network. and make it more well known. :)

Medium left the network all ready, they haven't said which one has picked it up yet. SCC should have done this as well, it would have been better in the long run.

Without a Trace surprises me even though ratings have been slipping for a couple years. It is just not as good as it once was.
