A midnight showing is just perfect for a film about vampires, and
Twilight took advantage last night. According to
Variety,
Twilight grossed over $7 million from midnight screenings last night, which upped weekend projections of the film.
Initially forecasat with an opening weekend around $50 million, it is now said that the weekend gross could end up north of $60 million now. While the film was expected to be a hit with younger tween and teenage girls, it seems older females and younger boys are flocking to the flick as well.
The film is based on the first of five books by Stephanie Meyer, which has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide.
Twilight can be seen in theaters today.

Sadly, I'm sure I've spent almost $100 on movie tickets this year, for just myself. $27 of that went to TDK. Brilliant film.
Right now it's a debate between Valkyrie, Benjamin Button, and Spirit.
The only other films I'm interested in this year is TDtESS, Gran Torino, The Tale of Despereaux, Valkyrie, Bedtime Stories, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and maybe The Spirit.
Crap, there goes $40 easy!
Bravo to a great year of films.
