Watch 9 New Clips from Sweeney Todd

Source:  Paramount Pictures
Sweeney Todd hits the theaters on December 21. You don't have to wait that long, though, to check out nine new clips from the latest Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration. Click below to check out these new clips.

Synopsis
Johnny Depp and Tim Burton join forces again in a big-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's award-winning musical thriller Sweeney Todd. Depp stars in the title role as a man unjustly sent to prison who vows revenge, not only for that cruel punishment, but for the devastating consequences of what happened to his wife and daughter. When he returns to reopen his barber shop, Sweeney Todd becomes the Demon Barber of Fleet Street who "shaved the heads of gentlemen who never thereafter were heard from again." Joining Depp is Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett, Sweeney's amorous accomplice, who creates diabolical meat pies. The cast also includes Alan Rickman, who portrays the evil Judge Turpin, who sends Sweeney to prison and Timothy Spall as the Judge's wicked associate Beadle Bamford and Sacha Baron Cohen is a rival barber, the flamboyant Signor Adolfo Pirelli.

Just saw the movie and wow what a great performance by Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. When the two are on screen together you can't take your eyes off them. Burton does a great job mixing the horror of what Sweeny Todd does with the comedic relief that Sondheim writes in his music. It has a lot of bloody scenes which may turn some off but this is not a happy story nor does it have a happy or uplifting end. Instead it is a warning that those who seek revenge in the end can become worse than those who have harmed them in the first place and they will meet the same end as those they seek to destroy. Attend the tale of Sweeny Todd he served a dark and a vengeful god.

This is my favorite "musical/thriller/operetta" of all the shows I've ever come across - the subject matter, the music, the performances - all daring - not just for 1978, but for 2007/08. I can quote and sing this show as one that I've played thousands of times and I worried a bit about this casting, but I'm very comfortable and confident by the clips and the reviews todate, that I will not be disappointed. Will it play Peoria? It has had a hard time playing New York for ladies and their sensibilities, but if you can appreciate the "art" of this show - wow, it will open your eyes to so many new things - I'll see this early next week and then many times after it opens I'm sure.

some parts seemed kinda slow and weird but Johnny always makes up for that kinda stuff. He's great at supporting other peoples bad acting on his shoulders.

WOW!!! Johnny Depp can sing? Uh, who knew? ...WOW again, This looks really really good. Gives me the creeps! Tim Burton knows what he is doing! Mabey this will be his year at the Oscar's? I just bought tickets for the Broadway show which comes to Phoenix in April of 2008!! Can't wait to see that too!
Can't wait to see this on screen. I have heard about this musical through out the years, & seen snippet's of it on PBS W./Angela Lansbury in the Mrs. Lovett role. My roomate actually did see this on Broadway W./Angela Lansbury, which is cool! This is on my "Must See" list!

Looks interesting and Johnny Depp is once again in his element. It also looks like the supporting cast of the last Harry Potter movie didn't have to change their make-up or clothes to perform in this film.
