Deadpool Confirmed to Spin-Off from X-Men Origins: Wolverine
May 6th, 2009

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool
The Deadpool movie will be an exploration of the character's background, and how he goes from being a part of the Weapon X project seen in Wolverine to becoming the mask-wearing Merc with the Mouth known to be a fan-favorite with readers of the X-Men comics.
Fox is reportedly looking for a writer and director for the film at the present, but Reynolds is expected to return to the role. This should come as no surprise to fans who had been clamoring to see Reynolds play the character for years, nor should it come as surprise to the long list of influential people who have spoken in favor of Reynolds for the role, including Reynolds himself, Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld and Fox Chairman Tom Rothman.
Deadpool is known as "the merc with a mouth," a character that under Reynolds lived up to his billing in Wolverine until the end, when the movie deviated from the comic book persona, imbuing him with several superpowers and sewing his mouth shut.
It is understood that Reynolds would regain the ability to mouth off, with the movie going back to the roots of the character known for his slapstick tone and propensity to break the fourth wall. The character also was disfigured in Wolverine though it's unclear at this time how much the studio would want to mess with Reynolds' handsome mug.
Whether the Deadpool film will follow in the footsteps of the hidden ending for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, or if it will go off in a different direction, it is currently too early to say. But you can expect SuperheroFlix and MovieWeb to keep our ears to the ground to bring you the latest news about Deadpool as it becomes available.

Jason would drop his weapon of choice and run screaming back into the lake. Chucky would rather take his head off and burn it, Mike would take his cleaver and stab himself to death than face you. That's right you're their nightmare.
You haven't faced us good people, I'm in you're dreams, I'm the very essence of your very fiber. I am the stuff of your nightmares, Fear me for my true name would burn your soul and beyond. I'll send you to Reann, where you will plead to be released by my demon friend. Whisper into his ear, Torc would laugh at you as he tortures you. There is no mercy, the devil avoids going there since it's beyond his control.
Now Fear me forever, every thought you have, every time you're in the wash room or when you lie in bed my true name will burn into you.
For I am Graven Leech. I am Immortal, I am the things of nightmares. HAHAHA
Eat shit and blow on your own cock you fucking shit head, munching on your daddies butt hole.
Take that shot gun and do us a favor and die die die. Hell no one will miss you, but before you do that drink that bottle you were saving for me first. Get the fuck off this site right now or I will drag you under the ground and rip you apart.
Nuth said.
I was one of the cool kids in High School and I'm a mean bitch, so far this is my good side. It's best not to upset me because I'm like wolverine on a bad day. Throw as many insults at me if you like,it's just I'm rubber and you're clue anything you say sticks to you.
By the way, pet names are usually attached to people who are just as stupid as you. If you can't stand the film fans here, then go to another site. This is the last time I'm speaking to you, get a brain and use it for once. Insults don't get friends. I learned that a long time ago, just comment on the film postings jerk.
You're not a nice man, did you drink too much? Rubbed off a little hard? if you don't have anything nice to say then leave us alone.
By the way, thanks for the tip. I meant probably.
Did your mom drop you when you were a baby?
In that case who were you talking to and why the hate, do you realize that a number of actors are Canadian. I'm sure you like some of them.
You would properly enjoy that action way too much.
Tell me which Canadian actors you don't like, unless you don't know any of them.
Is there something you're trying telling us?
Do all these men that have seen this film make them gay, actually it doesn't. Do us a favor and leave, I can't stand people like you nor your attitude. Hound me once more, I'll contact the owner of this site and report you.
He pulls out his black berry and calls Wolverine via Bluetooth, and like homey lets go to Japan.

It's awesome. And the cover totally meshes with the X2 Steelbook cover.
No problem there, but I already have X-Men 1.5 and the 2-disc Steelbook of X2: X-Men United, which I'd like to keep the Steelbook, but I may try to find X-1.5 in the Best Buy Steelbook to replace my current copy. My problem is trying to locate the EzyDVD Australian (Region 4) 2-Disc Steelbook of X3: The Last Stand, with Brett Ratner's Production Diary, etc., on Disc 2. I found a dude selling it, as it is no longer in stock on EzyDVD.com.au, but PayPal won't accept my Pre-Paid VISA card as payment. I thought about the R2 X3 DVD, but I'm sorta shootin' for this Steelbook copy, the only one in the world.

It's a 6 disc box set, featuring all the films in double disc format.
All fox dvd's over here are in either 2 disc or 1 disc formats.
My X3 is 2 discs it came with a comic as well
I concur with you Shelley.
I would love to see a Gambit spin-off and Deadpool as well, but with Fox at the helm of DP, it will suck big time.
I can see a Wade Wilson film, yes most definately, because it was before he was Weapon XI, but not a DP film, not after the way he was demolished in XMO:W.
Deadpool needs one person at its helm at that is David Goyer writing the script.
His script extract was spectacular that was posted on Latino Review in 2005, he worked on it from 1999 to 2008, but cancelled the film after he found out what happened to DP in XMO:W.
He fucking set the fucking script alight and and apparently sent the charred remains of the script to Fox in a letter, after the leak hit the net.
I don't blame him though 10yrs of work down the drain, and those first 15 pages were amazing...Deadpool & Cable in the first 15mins....Words can't express how amazing the rest of the script must have been if the first 15 pages were pure gold.
It slated to have Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool & Gerald Butler as Cable.
