i liked the new ending better. It is more final and complete. You knew it was going to happen due to previous clues in the film....aka the woman Micah looked up on the computer who had went through the same thing. Some people are like "the ending came out of nowhere"....this ending fit the plot perfectly because of the others womans story. The same thing had happened to her. Plus I hate endings that leave you questioning "what just happened?" so this was very final and complete.

i wouldnt always agree with the box office... this reminds me of blair witch... a fad, a hype, like all things really. but i think when it settles and time has passed, it will be seen completely different, hell transformers 2 made gobs of money, but everyone that i have talked with and alot of what i have seen online, there was not alot of people that thought it was anything more than eye candy. i am glad that some got to enjoy it, just thought it was not good in my opinion.

The box office did have the last word which is why newqueer was bitching. Saw was almost in double the number of theaters Paranormal Activity was in but still got manhandled by the independent film.

Sounded like a Teridactyl got into the house every time those bitches started to scream.

I highly doubt it incmob tat hey hired people to be "scared". When I went both times, the theater was gasping and screaming and so was I.

I couldn't give two shits if it scared anyone else, it scared me and that is one reason why I loved it.

I think it should have ended with smoke coming up the stairs and the whole place catching fire. It would fit with earlier plot points.

Great film with a bad ending (theatrical and original).

i just saw it. not going to spoil it for those who have not seen it yet, but i didnt think it lived up to the hype. the editing was not all the well done, the girls acting was a bit to be desired, and well it was not scary at all. in fact i am betting that the studio hired people to get freaked out in the theatres so that it would promote it as being this "i wanna see it, but too scared to finish watching it" vibe... ala "alien".

this is a big reason why there is such a market for downloads and bootlegs... i understand some of you loved it, but it should not feel like i am going to vegas everytime i go to a movie and gambling half of my wages away.

sorry for the rant... now let the bullets fly.

Theatrical was better.

The end you saw in the theater made more since than the cut we see here. And here's why.

We constantly hear Katie say for Micah to get rid of the camera and of course he doesn't. She fears that it is making the demon more aggravated. The movie builds and builds until at the end Katie is possessed by the demon and kills Micah and throws his body at the camera showing is hatred for it and Micah. And like I said before it coming at the camera is like it knows that we, the audience, are watching and it is coming for us. Of course this all is fake but this is why the ending in the theater is better than what we have here, the clip above has no such impact.

im not a big fan AT ALL of this movie , and thought the ending was pretty dumb. but this theatrical ending , i fuckin love it. its freaky as shit and definitly leaves a bigger impact. why didnt they use this ending? this movie was kinda boring , although i must say , some of those scenes were built up miraculously , very suspensful. im curious to see his new area 51 movie.

The theatrical ending left a far bigger impact and haunted me for a few days. I'm looking forward to the director's next work.

Sorry Newkill I have to say this. Just don't take offense,

I bet newkill was so frightened, I bet he ran out of the theater and ran home to his mommy.

In that case Newkill, when it comes out on DVD I'll rent it. I just don't get frightened easy. Besides the films I've collected, I must have seen over a thousand horror films and some of them are just bad.
I have at least five original films, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Child's Play, Amityville Horror, The Last Man on Earth which came with two old vampire films as well. The Devil's Bat and The Satanic Rites of Dracula.
Man I love classic horror.

Theatrical was much better. I still love this film because it didn't rely on big boo scares and tones of gore. Don't get me wrong I love gore but this was nice change of pace.

The new ending is way better, much more scarier, and made more sense. Good for you Spielberg(if in fact you did suggest the new ending) that is why you are one of the greats! This new guy has some talent thats for sure, so hopefully Speilberg takes you under his wing and throws you a cpl of good projects!!!

gosh people stop being like this.. new kill just didn't like it.. god, to each his own opinion.. stop arguing, no matter how much you argue, the movie is just not appealing to him.. its not like its wrong or anything.. stop bitching he just doesn't like it.
