Twentieth Century Fox is bringing back the
Alien franchise, signing on Jon Spaihts to write a prequel for Ridley Scott to reprise his role as director.
According to
Variety, Spaihts pitched to the studio and Scott Free, which will produce the film.
The film is set up to be a prequel to the groundbreaking 1979 film that Scott directed. It will precede that film, in which the crew of a commercial towing ship returning to Earth is awakened and sent to respond to a distress signal from a nearby planetoid. The crew discovers too late that the signal generated by an empty ship was meant to warn them.
The deal gives Fox another chance to keep the
Alien franchise alive. There were three sequels to Scott's original, but it is the first time the director has set his mind on directing one.
No production date has been set.

there is no alien homeworld. the jockeys created the xenomorph as a biological planetary bombardment..
they were in constant civil war and they riddled eggs on enemy planetoids, once infestation had completed, the horde was drawn to a central location and nuked.
a film about the jockeys would be very interesting, but to be good it would have to be very abstract..
OR, maybe they won't even bother!
lol just noticed they both are die hard villains lol, and brothers, in the franchise.
I mean come on...Scar from Lion King, is wicked. I want him to do Smaug's voice, but to save production money i bet Andy Serkis will do it
Sorry Hugh Jackman for Solid Snake, all the way.
Maybe JEH or Jeremy Irons for Liquid, but i dont think they have the balls to fill such a character.
Hmmmm i still find Superman doing the matrix dodge very iffy, and i hate that if they do it, it will bombarded with SFX
She feels its a character she helped refine and design to the screen and states, that she won't allow anyone to take the character away from her, as she believes that, the connections between her and Foxx, started there with the comparisons that both actresses were up for the role.
But apparently Jolie has first choice, cause she had a 2-film contract with optional decision of renewing the contract for future installments.
So it looks like Jolie is Lara Croft, once again...
And Christian Bale has come forth and denied all the rumours connecting him with the MGS film adaptation, stating that although he loves the game, he has not been offered in any form a role in the film, if it happens, which is unlikely.
Sorry to go off topic
