Keenen Ivory, Shawn and Marlon Wayans Bring Thugaboo to Nickelodeon

Source:  The Hollywood Reporter
Keenen Ivory, Shawn and Marlon Wayans are bringing their humor to Nicktoons as the kids channel has picked up the brothers' first animated project, a series of specials titled Thugaboo. The specials, which will take a humorous look at the trials and tribulations of nine very different kids growing up in the inner city, will be themed around important times in kids' lives, such as holidays and the first day of school. Through their series of misadventures, the kids learn valuable lessons about everything from the importance of friendship to never giving up on a dream.

The Hollywood Reporter says the series will consist of three specials -- one hourlong and two half-hours -- that will premiere on Nickelodeon first, followed by their debuts on Nicktoons. The first installment will have a back-to-school theme and is targeted to premiere in August, while the second will be a Christmas-themed special. The details of the third special are still being worked out.
