USA Today has unveiled the first photo of Russell Crowe in costume on the set of Ridley Scott's
Robin Hood. The story of the bandit who steals from the rich and gives to the poor gets a makeover in Robin Hood, which reunites Gladiator star Russell Crowe and director Ridley Scott.
"He doesn't have the old Robin Hood tights," says producer Brian Grazer. "He's got armor. He's very medieval. He looks, if anything, more like he did in Gladiator than anything we're used to seeing with Robin Hood."
"Oddly, it's a metaphor for today," Grazer says. "He's trying to create equality in a world where there are a lot of injustices. He's a crusader for the people, trying to reclaim some of the ill-gotten gains of the wealthy. That's a universal theme.
We just shot a scene where Maid Marion fires a flaming bow and arrow into the night sky. It's just a cool story."
Robin Hood is in theaters May 14th, 2010.

Or just another franchise remake that is completely unnecessary?
In my opinion, after seeing "The Assassination of Jesse James..." I saw Brad Pitt as Robin Hood, besides that it came down to Sam Rockwell or Robert Downey Jr. That's my opinion.
I want to know who is the Sheriff of Nottingham. That is the question that ponders my thoughts now on this film.
So now reckon Daniel Craig is a perfect fit for the role
I just hope they don't over-complicate things because this will get bashed hard especially if they try turning it socio-political like Rufio stated
I agree with Newkill, Ryan Reynolds would be a diaster as Robin Hood, unless they were taking it in a comical direction.
Also nice call, on Daniel Craig, Newkill, i now want him to play the Sheriff Of Nottingham.
And plz can we change the title to Ridley Scott's Nottingham...Ridley Scott's Robin Hood just sounds so plain and bland.
as a film and myth i love robin hood (especially fighting injustice), as a socio-political statement i dread what they appear to be trying to do with this movie.
