Wolverine and the X-Men Trailer Now Online

Source:  Marvel.com
The X-Men are coming back to the small screen, this time in Wolverine & the X-Men. And now, the people at Marvel.com, have made the trailer available to everyone. Check it out below.

The studio provided the following description of the series:

When an explosive event shatters the lives of the X-Men and takes away their mentor, the beaten heroes walk away from it all.

But then they're given a rare glimpse into the future, and see a world in utter ruin, ruled by giant destructive robots. A world that spiraled out of control because the X-Men had given up.

So now the most legendary of all X-Men takes the lead - Wolverine! Reuniting these broken heroes, Wolverine embarks on the ultimate mission - to prevent the world's destruction.

To rescue us from ourselves. To save the future.

Wolverine & the X-Men will be airing on Nickelodeon beginning in the spring of 2009.

Is Morph going to be in this new series?, he was my favorite in the old series but sadly only appeared in like 10 episodes, if so I hope he is voiced by Ron Rubin again him and his great unmistakable laugh

I watched Episode 1 yesterday on YTV. I really enjoyed it. Its not played down to cater to the little kids. Felt like an issue of the comic brought to TV. Animation style didnt feel really cartoonish, it fit the story type. I'm gonna watch it as long as it lasts.

People seem to forget that for a while in the late 80's Wolverine WAS THE LEADER OF the X-Men. Their roster at the time was Rouge, Havok, Dazzler, Longshot, and Psylocke. While Cyclops was off with "X-Factor" and Storm was trying to get her powers back, Chris Claremont really added new dimensions to the character. Yeah he's got a shitty additude and he is a "loner" but he's a great/interesting character...... And a character that is capable of leading. Hell, he led the X-Men against Mr. Sinister, The Marauders, and the Reavers. Check your Marvel History folks (Uncanny X-Men 221 - year 1987 - for example). If I'm not mistaken, Logan is number 3 in charge in the field. Behinde Cyclops and Storm. This cartoon will become a cult favorite.

Wolverine is awesome, but I don't want another Wolverine and friends event. Having him put together and lead a team is kind of a joke. They should be true to his character and not change things up because they are riding high from the popularity from the movies. Wolvie is a wild, secretive, loner. A team leader has to be rational and capable of inspiring and motivating others- not exactly Wolverine's strong suits. I can't look forward to a show where the entire team is in the background. It would be better to just give him his own show.

WOLVERINE is the best X-Men character... One of the best Marvel characters period. He could have his own television show - they're making his own movie. I mean, great costume, great powers, great backstory... The character also has so much depth. He's a killing machine, yet he's got this human side to him - one that's been fighting his beastly side for years.

Glad to see not EVERYONE is a Wolverine fanatic. How people can't see that Marvel just uses him to make a sell because of his popularity (mostly do to him being one of the first anti-heroes) is beyond me. Good marketing... bad writing. Like PhantomSpaceman stated in his comment, good writers use him the way he is meant to be used in a team book. He is the wild card surrounded by a bunch of straight laced heroes. Is he capable of handling a solo run? Sure... he isn't known as a lone wolf for nothing. Is is a leader or a main character in a team? No way. Wolverine is like the cool kid in high school that grows up and people realise that all that popularity and cool guy attitude just isn't gonna cut it all the time. I'll end my VERY LONG comment with an example of my last statement. (ie; Marvel vs DC / Wolverine vs Lobo) Wolverine won a popularity contest that even the writers thought was a joke. It was so bad that the fight had to take place off panel. Any comic book reader knows that there is no way Wolverine could beat Lobo (even if he did have his adamantium)!

Phantom sp aceman, if you were a director, you would have fucked up the whole franchise of X men and expecially Wolverine. Your taste SUCKS man! I can guaranteed you that ther're more fans that agree with more Wolverine than any other charactor in the comics of x-men. He is just bad ass like playing a Tony Montana as Scarface. How cool is that.

Man am I sick of all the Wolverine centered stories. Yes I understand that he's become the most popular of the X-Men, and if you were to ask any tom, dick or harry on the street to name the X-Men they know he'd be the first to be named but really he's not even the most interesting.

His story of a soldier kidnapped and turned into a killing machine is as old as time itself. His origin has been done and redone so many times it's sickening and I can name at least 10 marvel characters that can mop the floor with him without even trying. Marvel's creators should take a lesson from Astonishing X-Men and leave Wolverine in the background only appearing to ocassionally kill something, drink beer and belt out a few witty quips here and there. Stories need to stop focussing on him.

Seriously, there are much more interesting X-Men out there. If only everyone would jump off Wolverine's adamantium tool, they could get some focus. In any event I like the darker tone of the story, though the X-Men Evolution-like feel is a bit off putting. The animation isn't really a turn on for me and, if you couldn't guess, I'm not to big a Wolverine fan. Now put X-23 in there and then you've got a story. I find her much more interesting. Anyway that's my rant. Sorry folks.

Wow. I've been researching on this show for a while, and I need to say a few things.
1. now that I've seen the trailer, I kinda like the fact that wolverine will hopefully not be a side character anymore
2. I'm not as pumped about this as I was before I saw the trailer, but I was probably just overhyping the arrival of something wolverine-centered. I wish the animation style wasn't as blocky, because this makes it look like a combination of Avatar: the last airbender and Skyhawks. Weird? Yes. Tolerable? Also yes... but it could be better.
3. Marvel does need to cut out the phoenix annoyance, or if they absolutely HAVE to keep it, don't make it end with dead Jean again. Her character never gets to develop enough.
4.If Steve Blum reads this (which I doubt he will, but hey, It would be cool), I congratulate you on getting the job for Wolverine's voiceover, but it still blows my mind that you can do voices like this when you voiced Kenta and Guilmon (If I got my facts straight there). Truthfully I would have preffered the guy who voiced him in X-men Evolution, but you're doing a great job as well.
5. I want to say something else, but I can't quite form the statement as well as I'd like to...well, here goes: I hope this X-men show either A) gets to live in semi normalcy by having mutants become widely accepted and maybe having to fight small extremist groups or B) Xavier uses cerebro to reset the memories of everyone and make everyone forget that mutants existed and go back to Evolution's plotline. Preferrably option A.

Please respond to this! I'm going to try to check back for responses as often as possible. I wish I could talk to someone at Marvel, because the story of the X-men was what got me started on my own project that I hope someday will become a real show or comic. (I won't tell anyone what it is though, because they might steal my idea, obviously, :).)

hmmm...dead in uncanny x-men...not doing anything in ultimate x-men...and of course dead in the films. WOW MARVEL! GOOD JOB TAKING THE EASY WAY OUT!! LEARN HOW TO WRITE FOR HER AND BRING JEAN BACK!!! IM SICK OF THIS CRAP. i dont like her design or Storm's for that matter. I hope Rogue isn't an annoying emo retard this time. I might watch the show as long as there are some episodes with long flowing red hair maniacal laughter and a fiery raptor.

AndrewRyan, if u actually read the synopsis for this new show u would see that it said wolverine is taking over for prof x because of the horrible plot bryan singer started when he destroyed the original storyline. So now both he and marvel girl are dead. Storm has a very interesting history but because of the mass media in favor of Wolverine no one gets to experience it. Hopefully this time around wolvie will grow up and actually act like he's on a team and less like an animal. We'll see.

ooooh wow, another wolverine heavy X-men story, man I have never seen that before, its like watching all the movies and tv shows, and man, whiny emo cyclops, that too, is so original.

I understand that everyone LOVES wolverine, why not just make a movie about him alone, why drag my favorite x-men characters into a film only to make them look like pansies and have wolverine be the only person who isn't a crying weak little punk. Can we please stop doing this? PLease. Give the man his own movie so we can actually see a good film about the X-MEN. And the character designs look like slightly polished X-Men evolutions designs, can we TRY to be slightly more original? This one is definately a download.

I'm not too thrilled about some of the character designs. All the men seem to have the same square jaw line and cheekbones. Also not a fan of Storm's enormous hair. Doesn't look like it will be a complete massacre though. I think it'll be interesting to see what they do with it.

Jpose03, just because Storm has the cool powers, doesn't make her stand out. And thier not as cool as Wolverine's. Sure she can control weather, but Logan can friggin' heal himself! And he's got super-acute senses! AND he's got three indestructible claws that pop out of each hand that are made of the same metal that his bones are covered with! And he's not that uncontrolable, he's the only one who's willing to get the job done! Also, just to make things clear, Wolverine ISN'T the leader. He's just the most interesting character with the most backstory(yes, more than Storm's).

think after the 1st movie and the reaction from even none X-men fans towards logan has caused all this!

storm is one of the most powerful mutantson the marvel world. Everything should revolve around her. Its so obvious it was only a matter of time before idiot writers wrote crazy irresponcible and incontrollable wolverine into the leader when he def should not be. Storm has the most awesome n interesting powers and history and nothing is ever done about it.

Were not saying u can't have the X-Men without Wolverine. After all he joined the team later on, and there are good comic stories without him, but that's easy with comics cuz there's a whole 40 years worth of history and that creative teams can use. But with the movies, Wolverine made them interesting, and whether u like it or not, they revolved around him.

i have to admit that wolvie has an interesting background ie: weapon x, alpha flight, japan, cia and others. but the whole thing is, he is part of a TEAM. the team was there before he was there, yes he made a little bit better *being sarcastic*. i am sure that they can think of a movie or something with out him in it. just by saying that he went to find out some more about his past or something. but it is possible to have the x-men and not have wolverine. you can correct me if im wrong.

At least they're shaking things up a little, but Wolverine is such an obvious focal point. Of course, who else are they gonna use? A show centered around Nightcrawler? I love the blue elf, but SNIKT! fist is always going to be the go-to favorite. I wish they would do some sort of adaptation that starts out with the original five.
