Neil Patrick Harris Close to Landing Emmys Hosting Gig

It seems that a part of one of CBS' most successful series might be hosting the network's big award show as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Neil Patrick Harris is close to reaching a deal to host the Emmy Awards.

The How I Met Your Mother star had just hosted the Tony Awards last month, to rave reviews and the move could help promote How I Met Your Mother and increase viewership.

While the Oscars, Tonys and MTV Movie Awards have all seen increases in ratings, the Emmys have been declining in ratings for years, with last year hitting an all-time ratings low.
