MTV recently caught up with Ryan Reynolds to the discuss the character of Wade Wilson and the fast tracked
Deadpool spinoff film
"I love it, because I get to be involved," Reynolds said of reprising his
X-Men Origins: Wolverine role. "And I'm such a huge fan of the character."
The actor and 20th Century Fox are looking for a director as well as someone to writer the film.
"I get to be the authentication police, in a weird way," Reynolds stated regarding the storyline. "To their credit - the studio's credit - they want to make an authentic
Deadpool movie; they want to make it as close to the source material as possible."
Some of the things that Reynolds and Fox have determined are that "He's going to be the Merc with the Mouth, [we're going to give] all those answers that everyone wants," he offered. "He's going to have the scarred-up face, he's going to be in the suit - and, it's going to be incredible."
"Right now, it's just a question of trying to figure out what is the spine of the story," the actor said when mulling over possible plot points. "Who is the villain? What does Wade and/or Deadpool want?"
"And how do you tell that story? Are we going to see flashbacks to his old life, flash-forwards, present-day?" he added. "We're just trying to figure that stuff out."

Too bad, he's a cool character but this film will be AWFUL.
You may still be able to find the 15 page extract from his draft on Latino Review which also features Cable in the film.
Apparently after he saw Wolverine he completely dropped the project, he spent nearly 6 years writing it.
I personally feel sorry for the guy, and since reading his extract i dont believe any one can write a better Deadpool film than David Goyer, his what i'd marvel down as a true fan.
LOL and yeah that is a coincidence about Gerald Butler's character name in GAMER.
I agree any of the ones i named would be perfect, but for a charcter with emotion and action, top vouch is Dasniel Draig and come on guys you gotta admit, there was a lot of emotion through Casino Royale & Quantum Of Solace, Craig can blend action and emotion well together, which is why he is in my list.
But Sam Worthington & Clive Owen mostly look like Cable.
But any ways Sam Worthington is apparently penned to play Captain America, so he already has his superhero role.
I have a feeling this will turn out like the Blade series and The Punisher movies. Hopefully it doesn't.
AND BY COINCIDENCE BUTLER WILL BE PLAYING A CHARACTER NAMED CABLE IN AN UPCOMING MOVIE CALLED GAMER
BUT I STAND BY MY STATEMENT AND EVERYONE ON HERE SHOULD STAND UP AND SAY FOX NEEDS TO STOP MAKING COMIC BOOK MOVIES AND LEAVE DEADPOOL,CABLE OR ANY GOOD MARVEL CHARACTERS TO THEIR RIGHTFULL OWNERS, MARVEL STUDIOS
DO U GUYS AGREE OR DISAGREE?
Yeah Cable was in Goyer's , well what was posted of it in the 15 page exctract that appeared on Latino Review ages ago.
OOOOOO and choosing a casting role for Cable is quite a tuffy, but the top contenders, i'd most like to see is
Daniel Craig
Sam Worthington
Clive Owen
Any of them i'll be cool, another on e would be Gerald Butler.
Who do you reckon would be a good actor for Cable?
LOL his going to be the merc with the mouth, with a sewn mouth, realy cool.
Wolverine just fucked up Deadpool chatacter completely, just live it were it is Fox, wait 5 yrs and give it back to Marvel.
aI'm no longer interested in a DP movie featuring Ryan Reynolds especially when it being produced by Fox.
And if you think Wolverine some how needs to be interpretated into this film, LMAO, your a just plain dumb.
But here is someone that has to be into this film and since they want to follow the source material as closely as possible, then this film needs CABLE in a starring role.
Im hoping they can do a good job telling us who this guy is
Wolverine doesn't need to make a cameo. As Comrade said "Fuck Wolverine." This is Deadpool's movie, and after what they did to him in Wolverine, he needs all the attention he deserves without a Hugh Jackman cameo just to sell tickets
Ryan Reynolds is the perfect Deadpool.
