The Green Hornet Takes a Turn Towards the Comedic
October 20th, 2008
When it was announced that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were working on adapting The Green Hornet to film, with Rogen set to star, fan reaction was apprehensive - fearing that Rogen would make the film a parody of superheroes. Despite earlier assurances that the movie would be played fairly straight, Rogen recently told CHUD that the movie is now heading back towards comedy. At the press junket for Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Rogen revealed that due to Stephen Chow's influence, he and Goldberg are now once again open to making any aspect of The Green Hornet funny, including the action sequences.
Rogen said:
Me and Evan [Goldberg] talk a lot of shit. We have one rule when writing, and that's don't get attached to anything. One day we want to make a serious film and then Stephen Chow comes in with a good idea and we're like, 'Well it's funny.' Should we not do it because we originally wanted to do a serious film? We come from, nah fuck it, we'll just take the idea that seems good. So it's definitely less serious than a serious film, that's for sure. We want the action... I say now that we want the action to play serious but Stephen could come in tomorrow and say 'You know what? I want to throw you 400 feet in the air!' and I'd go, 'OK, that sounds cool.'
We're very open now. Right now is when we're in the process of deciding what this movie is going to be on a practical level. The story is the same; we've always known the story we wanted to tell, so it's easy within that to discuss the various sensibilities and reality levels and humor levels and stuff like that. To us, we hoped the director would come in and give us lots of ideas and directions to work with, and that's what he's doing.

Stephen Chow will direct the film from a script written by Rogen and Goldberg. Rogen will star as Britt Reid/The Green Hornet, and Chow will co-star as Kato. Expect to see The Green Hornet on June 25, 2010.

So quit being twats about a movie they haven't even started shooting yet, It's not like Bret Rattner or Mark Steven Johnson are directing it.
JR, I loved seth in pineapple express if that's what you're trying to refer too, and yes he is a great actor, A REALLY GREAT ACTOR, but I just don't see him as the green hornet, he should be the red hornet, but the green one, no way. LOL.
