Filmmaker Lodge Kerrigan has decided to write and direct Thieves for Warner Independent Pictures. According to Variety, it will be an English-language remake of the French film Les Voleurs.

The story revolves around a police detective who comes from a family tree filled with criminals. Andre Techine directed the 1996 French original, which starred Daniel Auteuil and Catherine Deneuve.

There is no start date on the picture.
