Find Out About the Galapagos Series on the National Geographic Channel

Source:  Francine Brokaw
This original series takes viewers to the somewhat mysterious Galapagos Islands where 95% of all the species that existed before human intervention still exist. This unique spot on earth is a "tapestry of life," and where Darwin began to think about his theory of evolution. Charles Darwin was inspired by the animals on the islands and saw their link to the past.

Plants and animals on the islands have "evolved to nearly 2000 species unique to the Galapagos." Half of the birds and insects, one third of the plants and 90% of the reptiles there exist only on the Galapagos Islands.

This Galapagos series is currently airing on the National Geographic Channel and will continue to air throughout the week.
