The Dark Knight Passes $400 Million in Record Time

Source:  Variety
The Dark Knight didn't have a case of the Monday's as it set yet another box office record yesterday. According to Variety, The Dark Knight earned $6.3 million on Monday to bring its total to $400.1 million, breaking the record for the fastest film to reach $400 million domestic.

The $400 million milestone was set in just 18 days, shattering the previous record held by Shrek 2, which needed 43 days to cross that box office landmark.

After just three weeks in release, The Dark Knight stands a good chance at breaking the $500 million barrier that only Titanic has crossed, and there is a chance it could break that film's all-time domestic box office record of $600.8 million.

Alright its week 5. The Dark Knight has 475 mil. Batman has to sink that stupid, worthless Titanic movie. At least cross the 500 mil landmark and there is chance that it can make enough money abroad to throw Titanic off the throne.

first of al I just wana say to Phil Mata: gahahahahahahahaha! ^^

and secondly I totally agree that Titanic did so good was because it was a good date movie.... seriusly please, BEAT AND SINK TITANIC!
I am so sick of still hearing that movie still being nr.1 when it comes to pulling in so much money!
Atleast James Cameron is still happy for his suxces

I agree with GNR, the reason Titanic made the money it did is because it was a very good "date" movie, you could take a girl out on a date to see it. Batman isn't that kind of movie, once the action/batman junkies have had their fill, it will be done.

i think they will have to re-release it to break titanic's record....other than that i think it will end up collecting just above 500 million.....which will be a great milestone as well.

I see...

I thought that didn't seem right. Thanks for that clarification. Well, if it makes at least 15 million a week for another 3 months...it could happen.

I remember when Titanic made a steady 10 million a week for almost half a year...let's hope Dark Knight can knock that off.

I guess I better go see the bat a couple more times to help push it along.

diaigma i think wat 4weston7 means is that there is no way that the dark knight will make 200 million more so it can have 600 mill total

how would The Dark Knight get 200 million dollars now? If they were smart they'd re-release it with director's cut footage then it'd get 200 million easy lol.
