In a story from
Variety, Universal Pictures has picked up the movie "rights to the Electronic Arts videogame
Army Of Two. Universal hopes "to fast-track the project to begin production in 2009 and has set
The Bourne Ultimatum co-writer Scott Z. Burns to write the script."
Selling more than "1 million units since it launched in March" game is "a two-player action contest in which a pair of private military contractors fight their way through a web of intrigue."
"Because people experience the game in pairs, playing two guys who go against the world, Scott and I agreed this format presented an opportunity to make a great buddy film," Burns stated. "The ambiguity of these private military corporations lends weight to an intelligent thriller with relevance to what's going on in the world right now. You have contractors with their own agendas, and two guys whose friendship supersedes all the politics. I told EA right off the bat I wasn't a gamer, and that appealed to them because they didn't want to simply replicate the game."

What about this for a suggestion for Rios. Javier Bardem ( No country for old Men)
Could it Work!?!?
I've also been playing mass effect recently...i honestly don't see what the fuss is about. There's points in the game that make me think "wow, this is really something" but then there's others where i want to slit my wrists. The gameplay at times is excrutiating and there's technical errors like pausing in the middle of combat to load or save or some shit. Some aspects are really quite annoying, but the graphics and unique quality of it and character customization keep it alive, and i think that's the only thing that got it hyped up. I only bring it up because while I don't think it's as great as the hype(i'd give it prob. an 8.7 at this point, but I haven't finished it), I think it would make an AWESOME film, no doubt. The character development, story, and action are all film worthy. I suggest zack snyder to direct it if it gets made(and it will). I know i suggest him a lot, but come on, his style is perfect for it..that is, if he's into doing a sci-fi flick, but i don't think he'd have a problem with it
Don't screw it up, and cast the right people for the roles.
