The Dark Knight Blu-ray Closes in on 3 Million Units Sold

Source:  Blu-ray.com
Burn After ReadingThe Dark Knight Blu-ray has already set sales records and now it's about to pass yet another milestone. According to Blu-ray.com, sales for The Dark Knight Blu-ray has sold 2.8 million units worldwide - with 2 million units sold in the US alone - and the blockbuster BD will likely pass 3 million units sold in the near future.

The Dark Knight Blu-ray sold a record-breaking 1.7 million BD units in its first week alone and worldwide sales have continued to perform steadily after almost three months on the shelves.

It was also revealed that, as many expected, this highly-anticipated BD has driven sales of Blu-ray players as well. According to research done by Warner Home Video, which released The Dark Knight Blu-ray, over one-third of consumers who purchased a Playstation 3 gaming unit between October and December cited The Dark Knight Blu-ray release for affecting their decision to purchase the gaming unit, which comes with a Blu-ray player.

Me and my friends bought each the special edition DVD and one of them bought the Blu-ray edition and a PS3 so he could watch it. We also seen the movie quite a few times in theaters and we're going again on the re-release next week. But the special features are such a huge disappointment.... there's nothing really valuable in those DVDs unlike the Batman Begins DVD which had enough material worth the price. The Dark Knight on DVD and Blu-ray it's a horrible rip-off, and damn you Warner, because I will still buy that Ultimate Edition you are likely to release later this year.
This is not the Edition we deserve but the one we need right now...

I am happy for them. Even though I love this movie so much, they still fucked us over with the special features. Thanks Warner Brothers for screwing over all those who helped push the box office for this.
