Dragonball Z Open Casting Call

Source:  IESB.net
Dragon Ball Z is filming in Durango, Mexico beginning in December 2008, and they are now looking for extras to appear in the anime-inspired film. IESB has posted the casting flyers announcing the open auditions.

The film is looking for extras of all "makes and sizes" as well as martial arts students and instructors. Even better, they insist that no experience is needed.

Dragon Ball Z tells the story of an adult humanoid alien named Goku, who discovers that he was sent to Earth to blend in and destroy our population but instead elects to protect it from an oncoming alien onslaught bent on dominating the universe and controlling the mystical objects from which the film takes its name. Justin Chatwin is starring as the hero Goku, while James Marsters will play the villain Piccolo. The film is being directed by James Wong and is slated for an August 15, 2008 release date.

yeh i said marsters would better suit vegeta, but there are others, like freddy rodriguez, ray park, and if he is to be a bit older, mark strong.

Props on that first blog you posted marcusx it's right on the money. I'll be right there with you as we both throw our sodas at the screen, but not the candy and pop corn it's to expensive lol. Unless you want it to be a rage against the man, "Yah I spent $4 for your Milk Duds, and your under paid employees can clean it up!" That would rock. (0.o) ,V,, Peace!

OK DUDE! mauro77 I went to your blog and all the pictures did not do much for the DBZ Movie of wich your blog is about. These pictures could be of anything, however I hope that the New Camero is not in this flick because that puts up a red flag for the movie right there. People always try to copy a box office movie IE Transformers. Oh well as long as Vernon Troier or Danny DaVitto are not playing Krillin we'll be ok lol. BTW I saw that on a fan pic web site for who should play who in DBZ 8 or 9 years ago. Wesley Snipes should be Piccolo though. To bad, so sad to late now. \,,/ (0.o) Rock On Peeps!

I agree with Stievun85 because it would really help for those mid air fights. They tried to to do this with Matrix Revolutions but it was a little slow going. I hear James Marsters is playing "Piccolo". I think Vegita would be a better role for this former "Vampire with a soul".

i think they should do a real live action just to see how it goes, but i think a beowulf type would be cool too, but if ya think about it they would have to look real anyway, im anxious to see how the hair comes out

They should make the movie like Beowulf, half 3D..
Then you can do really cool things...

I think the story hasn't to be that good, it just must be funny..like Goku :D

also if anime is gonna start to hit the big screen like the comics are nowadays, you gotta realize thht the possibilities are endless. just think if they made movies just off the adult swim line up like trigun, yu yu hakusho, or even the ronin warriors. they mite suck but it all depends on who gets a hold of them, i dont know about you but a ronin warriro movie would be pretty sweet i think

evangelion was cool, but possibly a lil too confusing for some. i often found myself watching episodes more than twice in a row to get it once i first started watching. and i guess they could do it in a 2 part trilogy with star wars. start off a lil later in the series, but that would be pretty lame. you gotta realize that all the characters cost to put in a movie cuz they are all individually owned. so they wana do DRAGONBALL first to see how it goes with critics and to see if its worth going farther. they could have marsters be the king piccolo and then have another piccolo who starts bad as gokus nemesis and then becomes the good guy we all know and love, i hope they have raditz in here and then die towards the end so then before the credits roll you see nappa and vegeta crash land and then step out and see the camera angle start at their feet and then up to their heads and then pan out and see their whole bodies. then they fly off to wreak havoc, then you see the credits and an open-end for a deffinate sequel

Dragonball Z is the greatest cartoon ever. Makeing this moive could be the dumbest idea ever. For this you need a really good story. Piccolo as the bad guy just dosent work. Everyone knows how that happened. It was pretty boring. Frieza would be a way cooler plot. You would also get to have a super sayien.

Never liked Dragon Ball, but Ill wait and see how this turns out. Who knows, they maybe doit right.
By the way Ive been reading a lot of "Hollywood has run out of ideas" BS for years now. Yet people is still going to the movies....
PS I actually would prefer an Evangelion movie

ok so this is my first post but i got a few things i wana get off my chest. as all of us know hollywood is on the brink of being completely dry with ideas. all it is nowadays is this stupid trilogy prequel sequel crap. all the movies known to man are being bought out and expanded upon. so in a sense i can see where most of you are coming from when you say this movie will blow. but look at the facts:
chatwin playing goku=lame
but
chatwin +training group 87eleven=huge buff kid with some positive outlook, it can be pulled off.

if any of you remember that movie volcano high with the kids with powers and the voices of all the rappers, you will see that the ki blasts in that (although minimal) have some serious potential. of course there will be some serious color changes to the blasts but wateva. any way, the movie can start out as the end of dragonball with goku beating KING PICCOLO, not sure if marsters will play the piccolo we all know and love, or his father who was evil. cuz remember piccolo came from an egg after his father was killed by goku. also note that the entire movie is about his as a teen and not the adult from Z. the movie could be about his teen battles with piccolo and towards the end show an adult actor as goku with the chi-chi character holding their son gohan. then they feel an earth shattering quake being raditz crashlanding and then piccolo coming to goku for help. i doubt vegeta and nappa will be in the move but if they are it will prolly be a flashback made by raditz when explainng to goku taht 2 more saiyans are on their way. unless marsters as piccolo gets beat in th ebeginning and gohan gets born and raditz shows up towards the end and gets beat, i really dont know. i think that if the movie is to be released on AUG 15 of 2008, we are all screwd cuz that is far too soon. i mean dont get me wrong i wana see it but if they do it right it should take longer. plus its being filmed in mexico so i really dont want to see a bunch of mexican kung fu masters bouncing around and stuff. but i also heard a guy from the hit tv show heroes has tried out for the part of yamcha. i dont wathc the show but i believe it to be the guy who plays andos or andros or a name similar to that.

all in all i have high hopes for this movie, but i am already prepared do to throw soda and candy at the screen half way thru

(SIG)POGO has it right, a 3D film for Dragon Ball would be best, this live action has suck@$$ written all over it. I will still see it being a fan, I saw Mortal Kombat and Street fighter, they were hilarious.
