Take a Look at the 2012 Teaser!

Source:  Moviefone
Want a piece of history right now? Moviefone has debuted trailer for Roland Emmerich's epic 2012 ready and waiting for you to watch as many times as you want. Check out this trailer to see what happens when the ancient Mayan calendar reaches its final days.

2012 revolves a family who goes on vacation in December 2012, just as the Mayan calendar is coming to a close. Over the decades, many have prophesied that the world will end when the ancient calendar ceases on Dec. 21, 2012.

2012 comes to theaters on July 10, 2009 from Columbia Pictures and stars John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, Thomas McCarthy, Woody Harrelson and Chin Han.

ID4 was okay, but TDAT was great in my opinion.
And Cell...STOP CALLING HIM A HACK!!! Dam it!

can someone answer this question for me. What is it that jigsaw falls into that disfigures his face in punisher war zone movie trailer. I just want to know.

I have an open mind, I'm a fan of Will Smith and welcome any film. Some do fall short but at least they give it a try.

Wow Cell "Independence Day" was shit? Why don't you tell that to everyone else in the fucking world who loved the movie. You're just here to piss everyone off by saying that everything sucks, why bother? Go do something productive, like building a better mousetrap.....

And you're a hack critic, cell. Do you notice that if you don't like a movie, it's automatically "the worst film" of that year? You can't have 20 "worsts" a year. And you found that after "much digging?" Says a lot about the amount of spare time you have on your hands, if you did "much digging" and only found what we all already know. Bravo to you, cell...no one cares.

Emmerich isn't a "hack." He just isn't that great with storytelling, and a lot of filmmakers aren't(ahem Michael Bay ahem), but that doesn't mean they're hacks. Every director has a signature...his is destroying the world in his films. Emmerich's "Godzilla" was the first movie I ever saw in a theater...I was five. At the time, it was the most mind blowing thing I've ever seen. I STILL like the movie(one of the few), and I say that as a Godzilla fan with almost all the original movies where he spent his days terrorizing Tokyo and battling other monsters.

I kind of got off topic: the POINT is that you're just a narrow-minded idiot, cell. Did you ever stop to ask yourself that maybe these movies and directors aren't bad, it's just that you're a bad critic and a complete sack of shit? If not, I suggest you take time away from fondling yourself enough to ask yourself that question.

WOW.......ANOTHER DISASTER FLICK FROM TODAY'S GENERATION "IRWIN ALLEN" ROLAND EMMERICH!!! HACK DIRECTOR!! LOL!!! WILLIAM CASTLE WANNA-BE!!

not something I would see! Hated "Day After Tomrrow" ..laughable mess...& "Independence Day" (1996)was just shit!! Worst films of 1996. It should have recvd the Razzie for Worst Picture & Worst Director Roland Emmerich!

I GOOGLED "2012" AND WELL NOTHING ...WHAT A CROCK OF CRAP!!! THE ONLY THING IT LED ME TO WAS THE THE "2012" MOVIE WEBSITE....

BUT AFTER MUCH DIGGING:

2012 is claimed by some with New age beliefs to be a great year of spiritual transformation (or alternatively an apocalypse). There is disagreement among believers as to whether 2012 will see an end of civilization, or humanity will be elevated to a higher level!

Makki is apparently basing his beliefs on a TV show...

I think it's fine filmmakers want to cash in on the end of the world. It makes for a good movie...hopefully. As for the world actually ending on that date, if it does, it won't be because of some natural disaster magnified a 1,000 times, it'll be because of our own doing.

Emerich has the right concept and he's good at making natural disasters(especially tidal waves), but if Hollywood wants to get a message across instead of just making money off of it with a special effects blow out, they should depict war and famine, people fighting in the streets, all of that. This movie will get the date in our heads, but it'll only make us marvel at effects like every other movie, it won't make us think. That's what I want out of an end-of-the-world movie: a story that might actually get people think about thier crappy lives and how they ruin other people's crappy lives. "Hey, if we don't shape up, we might bring an end to us."

In short, depicting the world will end because of nature's doing won't have an effect on us; depicting the world will end because of our doing, just might...and documentaries from Michael Moore or "An Inconveniant Truth" don't count.

This trailer captures the essence of ..."What the fuck is going on? And, I want to see more of this shit"
However, with Roland's track record, we should expect terrible acting, a cheese-dick story and some ridiculous sub-plot.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I guess we'll have to wait and see...

No, the Myans weren't fucking with us. Some Myan historian was just about to write Dec. 22, 2012 in the next space on the callendar, but he was decapitated by a conquistador before that could happen. Those damn Spaniards, now we will never know just how far the Myan callendar goes.

You know, the Mayans were just messing with us, right?

"Hey, let's stop the calendar right here, and people living in the future will think it's the end of the world...won't that be great! HAHAHA...

When our sun evolves into a red giant, THAT will be the end of the world. 600 million + years to go.

HESSIAN that's exactly what I am telling you, you never know when it will come, it could actually be that day, as much chance as there is that it will be today, as much as there is chance that it is tomorrow. and there is chance that it is anyday between now and who knows when. so forget about it and I wont even bother go watching that movie, becasue personally i think it's crappy. their is much other movies to watch right then sicne the release of the Transformers 2 and angles and demons and we will be close to harry potter and the half blood prince so it mostly doesn't matter becasue i wont be watchin'.
all I wanna say is that colombia pictures was crappy by doing this because the company must know how many people will they scare by this more than the people who actually know this shit like me or you.
so i really have to say one thing to colombia pictures for this.
GO FUCK YOURSELVES THIS WILL BE SHITTY AS HELL.

The real story behind 2012 and that giant wave, and obviously the most realistic explanation behind 2012 end of d world thingy is,...............

remember 1998?? when people of NYC busted Mama Godzilla's ass?? he's son was like "oh no they di'int??!!"... now he's back, bringing vengeance with him..

FYI: Nostradamus predicts armageddon in 7074 and all his prophecies lead up to that year, but the end starts starting in 7048 when "the sun finally takes its leave."
Also in reference to the Mayan calender ending, so what, it has done it before and will do it again.

zanny zap you're funny.
moviebuff, i do believe that there is diffrence between the day after tomorrow and this the basic is still the same.
mary 323: siriously you believe this shit. all I know is that I am supposed to live my life and the day that I will die i'll either go to heaven or earth, and siriously you should loosen up a little, because they did this shit from before in fact everyone wants to beleive that the end of the world is somewhere close to see what would it actually look like. but the actual thing is: NOBODY KNOWS WHEN WILL IT HAPPEN AND HOW IT WILL. it's all in GOD's hands.
HESSIAN: you should really look for the fact that this future could be close and could be far away and mabey could be in 2012. nodocy really knows when it comes to us.

FUCK this movie, I am really about to get in hysteria because of the whole end of the world thing, not because the end of the world is in 2012, because the world could end tomorrow or today in the night.
but Why THE FUCK IS EVERY FUCKIN MOVIE ABOUT THE FUCKIN END OF THE FUCKIN WORLD. PEOPLE IHAVE ALREADY SAID MY WORD. I STILL WILL WATCH IT but FUCK IT. I mean people why is every movie in the world is supposed to be about the end of the world and i don't need to list more, if it is because of a disease, an alien attack or fuckin whatever. DON"T FUCK WITH MOTHER EARTH.
stop repeating the same thing again.

You know whats going to happen on December 21st, 2012? Nothing, except me waiting for presents from the wife 4 days later. Oooo...the Mayan calender is ending...so that means the end of the world. Psshhh...people always come up with ways and reasons the world will end. One day it will, one day far in the future, but not during Christmas in 2012. I do wanna see the movie though...Roland Emmerich sure knows how to destroy the world.

Some people are still missing the point about this movie. It's not even compared to The Day After Tomorrow. Just because there this huge title wave doesn't mean it's the same thing as that movie. The disappointement I'm expecting is that there is all sorts of ways that December 2012 can conclud to. I guess we will have to wait until that time comes...
