What's a ninja movie without a little Rain. According to
Variety, South Korean pop star Rain has been cast as the lead in the film
Ninja Assassin. The film is another collaboration between The Wachowski Brothers, producer Joel Silver and their protoge James McTeague (
V For Vendetta), who will likely direct.
Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, is rising fast in the entertainment world. His first leading role was in
I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK, which was featured at last year's Berlin Film Festival, and he also has a supporting role in the upcoming Wachowski Brothers film,
Speed Racer.
The film is tenatively scheduled to start filming from March to July in Berlin.

I created an account just to comment about Rain. With all the great but unemployed Martial Arts Actors here in the US, why do they hire Rain ? The Wachowski Brothers don't need a pop singer cum actor to lure audiences. Forget that noodle-eating' teriyaki breathed, R B music thief, plagarist, actor wanna bee.
Wachowski Brothers, do something original "again" for christ sakes.
Do the DreamScapes axis movie.
