Leonardo DiCaprio has had enough movies set in that time frame, and quite frankly I tried of seeing him in that era

I'm not sure what you mean by the name comment, but its funny none the less

LOL Blizzard the way you pronounced the way you spell your name sounds kind funny, inn a posh snobby accent.

The film is set between 1933 - 1934 if we are to be very technical, its based on the book by Bryan Burrough's called
'Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-34'

The film centers on America's Federal Bureau Investigations rise to take down the Public Enemies of the U.S in which John Dillenger was one of the main Public Enemies alongside such other as Baby-Face Nelson.
Also this film was meant to be a mini-series on HBO and be executively produced by Michael Mann & Robert Deniro, with Leonardo Dicaprio in the role of John Dillenger

Hey, hey, Hey, first of all lets not be formal, why you got to write my whole name like this is a serious matter, you're right its set in 1930's, sometimes I get those eras mixed up, but thats no excuse for the formalities, damn

S.BlizZzard, if you please

S. BlizZzard, if you please . The movie is not taking place in 40's/50's the whole movie is set between 1930-1935.

Also is anyone else here not anticipating Angels & Demons.

It was Dan Brown's best novel, GTFO if you think Da Vinci Code is the best, Da Vinci is a piece of pee compared to A&D.
It on a much larger scale story and its also a prequel, henceforth why Tom Hanks no longer has his ridiculous mullet, lol.

People read the book its pretty neat, if you into a Sci-Fi / religious thriller with hanging priests, which i fought i would never see be done.
Also the trailer is awesome, that V.O in the trailer is aced up and bang straight on the nail to the dialogue of the book.

'NOW IS THE TIME FOR OUR REVENGE!'

Ok now i feel dumb, lol i remember the name of the gun that Depp is holding, lmao, it's called a 'Dillenger'
John Dillenger always used a specific and the same gun at all times, and the gun he used got hailed as 'The Dillenger.'

I'm actually interested how they are gonna do the betrayal in this film, lol and see Johnny Depp get blasted away by a firing squad, woohoo

I don't know the gun just looks weird, i've never seen a tommy gun with a wooden section.
The one Depp is holding looking awesome, i forgot the name of the gun lol and now it really bugging me i think its a sub-machine Thompson (not to sure on that, lol)

Thanks on the screenplay casting credentials i got Christian Bale & Jessica Biel titled for the roles of Bonnie & Clyde.
There is this one picture of the real Bonnie & Clyde in which they actually look like Bale & Biel, plus Bale & Biel, kind of has a ring to it.

Thanks J.A. Vice did have a awesome soundtrack, and yeah, that gun does look weird.
P.S. i would love to see your Bonnie and Clide revision. lol.

Also is it just me or does that Tommy Gun in Christian Bale's hand in the Public Enemies photo look stirkingly odd, it looks like it has a shotgun base with a Tommy Gun Cartidge attached to it.
LOL

I thank thee for the opinion, my good fallen :)
OOOOO and i'll definately see this lol, i had my own eye on writing one that was until i started researching it and found about 'Public Enemies.'
I also found out that it starred Bale & Depp and fought F it ain't no one gonna be able to top it lol, not with performances and a sterling cast such as what 'Public Enemies' holds.
Also who the heck doesn't wanna see Johnny Depp as a gangster in 40's style, apparently he is being praised for his performance.
So i dropped my idea to do 'Public Enemies' and went with 'Bonnie & Clyde'

I also gather that film have a limited time-span and there is only so much you can do in a limited time, you can hardly fit 300 something plus pages into a 2hr movie, that's why majority of book to flm adaptations suck. Its hardly like someone's life such as Napolean Bonaparte's life was like 2hrs and 30 minutes.

But i don't know maybe it was because i was a fan of the show and had high expectations for it and also the main theme was my fav theme song at the time and still is one of my favs.
Also i do like slow-movies, just i only enjoy them more if the storyline was well built and the characters well developed and played by powerful expressive cast to give a very embraceful example 'The Assassination Of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford.'
I just didn't expect Miami Vice to be slow-paced, i expected it to be average pace with a few shootouts and a banging soundtrack and a great plot. It had the glitz and glammer but but no spanner in its developmental areas of the writing process.
It to me just felt too longly dragged.

But to each their own opinion :)

J.A.Ottley, you seem to be a very talented man, and a good guy. But movies don't go bye as fast as some may hope. I guess to each his one, but I thought Miami Vice went along with a usual pace. Not all movies jump into it, especially movies grounded, and based on real events. I mean, in real life, theres not a week, with 3 bank robberies and 2 prison escapes ya know. Or even a month. Maybe a year. And if ya don't like slow movies, i suggest ya don't watch this cuz it is supposed to take place between a few years span. But again, just tellin ya. Peace out man.

Haha, VIS, I still wouldn't have wanted to see it, I'm just saying that it sounds better as "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins." lolz.

whoa, whoa, pump the breaks is JD With Bale, in the 1940's/50's with my favorite gun, the movies are back on top, it looks like we are going to have a good 3 or 4 years of fucking excellent movies, I'm ready, I cant wait to see all of these movies

Ahh i never knew he did Ali, my bad i left out Heat, despite that it was slow the character development and rivarly between Pacino & Deniro was pretty amazing.
Also i haven't seen Thief or Insider, i'll have to find those and give them a watch.
Miami Vice was too slow for me, i loved the series, but the film was poorly and too slow for me with a small climax powered up by a film with an awesome song for its main theme (Linking Park Numb) that dragged itself for nearly 2hrs for a tiny climax.

I don't reckon it will be bad, i just don't want tit o be slow like the majority of Mann's films.
There should be approximately 3 bank robberies and 2 prison escapes.

The pic with Johnny on the bed is after he first encounters Bale after a bank robeery or prison escape.
The film has just been announced as in post-production and due out in july so expect a trailer by definately end of jan, beginning of feb
