Christian Bale Apologizes for Terminator Salvation On-Set Rant

Source:  Associated Press, TMZ
Much has been made about the recentlly released audio footage of Christian Bale's tirade on the set of his new film, Terminator Salvation and Bale has apologized for his behavior. The Associated Press is reporting that Bale appeared this morning on the Los Angeles radio station KROQ's morning show, "Kevin and Bean" and apologized for the outburst.

If you want to hear Bale's apologies for yourself, we have audio of his appearance on the radio show, so click below to hear Bale on the Kevin and Bean KROQ morning show.

Christian Bale Apologizes

"It's been a miserable week for me," Bale told hosts Kevin Ryder and Gene "Bean" Baxter. "Listen, I know I have a potty mouth; everybody knows this now. The thing that I really want to stress is I have no confusion whatsoever. I was out of order beyond belief. I was way out of order. I acted like a punk. I regret that. There is nobody that has heard that tape that's been hit harder by it than me. I make no excuses for it. It is unexcusable. I hope that that is absolutely clear."

When asked what brought on the erratic behavior, Bale replied, "I put so much into what I do and care so much about it and sometimes the enthusiasm just goes awry. I'm embarrassed by it. I ask everybody to sit down and ask themselves, have they ever had a bad day and have they ever lost their temper and really regretted it immensely."

As for the countless remixes of his audio lash-out that have appeared frequently on the Internet, Bale has no beef with those poking fun at him.

"Feel free to make fun of me at my expense; I deserve it completely."

Bale also expressed that there is no bad blood remaining between himself and the subject of his tirade, director of photography Shane Hurlbut.

"We have resolved this completely...I have no intention of getting anyone fired. There is no problem whatsoever."

It takes a lot to apologize to someone. At least he made amends. Good on him.

He apologized lol good he didn't have to seeing as he did i don't know MONTHS ago when it happened lol. He apologized to only person who deserves an apology and that was Shane he doesn't owe the public an apology at all it's none of your buissness he blew up at someone on set, and apologized shortly after now five months later people are taking this to heart as if Bale shouted at them,. Get ovwer yourselves you weren't there, you don't know anything about the situation other then what's on tape, he doesn't owe the public shit. If anything the dickhole that sold the tape to the press should apologize for Bale for trying to stir up his career by releasing an arguement that happened 5 months ago that had already been resolved to make Bale look like this is how he is all the time. The amount of people taking this rant personally is staggering and stupid. Bale had good reason to yell at Shane, Shane was walking in the way and Bale needed to return some video tapes :)

Then forgive him, just dont' call me a dick. His whole demeanor screams dick at me, and quite frankly I cannot stand him. He can take his apology, as far as I'm concerned, and shove it uo his ass.

Put that on a T-Shirt and sell it.

Vamp, Killerman200 you two are the dicks. He apologized, damn, everyone blows up at someone at least once in their life. Most are just not caught on tape. I for one forgive him.

And to your question Mr. Dude. I believe if that we men should shave any damn place we want to, whether it's upstairs sink, downstairs, basement wherever. I for one shave downstairs because i have better lighting down there. I can't see a freakin thing in my upstairs bathroom.

I absolutely agree with you Vamp. Bale is simply a dick.

Chad, since you like giving out awards. Give one for yourself for being the biggest dick licker in the world. So i guess Bale is a king and can say anything to anyone if they do something wrong. Wow, i didn't know he had it like that.

Look in the end of the day, Shane doesn't deserve an apology, because he shouldn't have been changing the lighting during the course of filming. If he wants to change the lighting, he tells the lighting crew before filming begins and they set up tracks above the lights.
You don't just waltz right through the scene as if you don't give 2 shits what is happening, brief, Shane wasn't doing his job in proper procedure and Bale had a mad ass go at him.

Bale is apologising to the the public, the people and his fans and what is Shane Hurlbut?
A memeber of the public and one of the people.
You need to realise this was aired nationwide on the news, him not saying anythingnin response to it and the irratic and incoherent language he used, not only makes the people on the set of TS look bad but also makes Bale looks extremely stupid.

Bale and Shane have resolved this matter and the proper procedure has been discussed upon changing the lighting throughut scenes.
If this problematic error wasn't resolved then they both wouldn't be attached to
Terminator: The Future Begins

him railing on some dumbshit in the first place doesnt warrant 81 comments

Nobody knows that he did/didn't get an apology, face-to-face or whatever. Especially since this all went down in July last year and they had to finish the shoot, don't you think those two would of had to resolve their differences to continue the shoot and get the job done?

I reckon everyone involved had moved on from this on-set tantrum 7 months ago but now everyone at home gets to play, criticise, diagnose and profit financially now that it has become celebrity gossip.

Of course many would love to believe there is more melodrama here I'm sure, and its a great excuse to defend their Batman or hate on Bale / boycott Salvation for whatever personal reasons...

Killerman, are you trying to be funny when you throw out insults? Cause I gotta say, you pretty much suck ass at it. And I'm not even talking about you shit talking me either, for example, this "Brandeis, two things. Get a picture and shut the fuck up." Which does make me laugh because it's the dumbest insult I've heard on here thus far lol. I like how you say Bale needs to have self control and you talk about killing people and fucking their wahoos or whatever. Stupid + Hypocrite = You. Seriously man, grow the fuck up already. Get rid of your Twisted band image, put down your FayGo soda and move on to better music. If that's not them (which is sure looks like them) your opinion and insights to things are so warped and out of place that everyone on here thinks you have torrets syndrome. "I LOVE COCK!" "I MAKE NO SENSE" "I TRY TOO HARD TO BE A MANLY MAN", ya know, those types of things you burst out lol.

Btw to go into you and incmob's little conspiracy theory lol, come on guys, give it a rest sheesh. PR or not, he went out of his way to make it known that he's a good guy even though he snapped on somebody one day. Not a big deal. You can move on in life. I liked Bale way before he was even Batman, remember the film Equilibrium? Oh yeah that shit was bad ass lol. Anyway, this is a stupid topic since it's over and came out a year after the incident. TMZ is lucky we jumped on this like wildfire cause it's really really stupid if you think about it. That's like Linsay Lohan news. Who cares? I don't believe half the shit I hear anyway. It's not my business. Unless he murders somebody, then I'll care. Otherwise mind your own business and masterbate to something other than Bale's audio clips. Especially you killerman, no more angry Bale for you! *takes away from killerman*

exactly killer... like my post had said earlier, he apologized to "us" but only stated he and shane had worked things out... well how much of that mans work ethic is tarnished by bale snapping on him and making him out to be a total idiot? also again i think this was fear as well... the studio probably had convinced bale to make a statement notice how many times at the end he explains "this is a great film we all did a good job on it" "dont let this influence you into not seeing the film". We can all say bale is a good actor, not the best but i think most of you are defending him as if he is the real batman because he portrayed him in a film. and yes Brandeis, you make some valid points in believing that human error is part of being human, yet i agree with killer, that we all have jobs, and how many of us would have been forgiven had any of us turned out that performance at our jobs? it is just not exceptable behavior, and even though he proclaimed on his apology just about as long as the rant that it was unexcusable i really feel it was the fear of the studio that there would be a backlash on the film if they hadnt somehow pissed on the fire.

But in all reality, Ottley. Shane should have been the main guy receiving the apology, face to face. I mean if you were at work and one of your coworkers went off on you and most of the staff heard it, the next day that guy goes to the boss and his friends on the job and apologizes for his outburst. You wouldn't find that strange. Shane deserves some type of apology, no matter what he was doing. No beer buying. Just say i'm sorry to the man's face. If he hasn't done that, then i don't think this ordeal with those two are resolved.

Well too each their own opinion, i've met the guy in person and talked to him, everyone wakes up on a bad side at least one time in their life or at least once a year.

Your defining him by the portrayal of what the media makes and creates him out to be.

In the end of the day this all comes down to professionalism and none of them on that day acted like professionals.
Shane Hurlbut should not be changing the lighting during filming, every DOP knows this, because there fore the lighting within the scene will be inconsistent.
Christian Bale took this matter over hand and out of matter, he ain't making an apology for Shane or any of the cast and crew, his apologising to the public for his irratic behaviour at the situation of what happened on the set and he is resolving that in the content of a worldwide apology to the people that heard it on the news nationwide and as well to his fans as he doesn't want to lose their respect.

I'm sorry Ottley, but i have to disagree with you. I don't think Bale is a cool chilled guy. In this apology, Bale didn't have the DP interests or anyone else's at heart. That's what makes him an asshole.

did he start filming TS after TDK..if so I can see why he had so much pinned up in him...you have to understand these "actors" or the good ones at least have to submerge their selves into these "characters" they bring alive on the screen for our enjoyment...I think the funniest part of that whole tirade is when he asked McG did he have anything to say to this prick?!..lol

February 8th, 2009 2:43pm
I really don't give 2 shits if he lost his temper, his still awesome in my books, i don't care about the rest of your books, lol.

Bale is a cool chilled dude, that puts passion and dedication to his work, that's why his in the biggest film franchises ATM.

I can actually come from where Bale is coming from, trust me it does piss you off but on to the contrary Bale did over-react, but you know what at least his got the balls to admit that it was his fault and no one elses, and that is what you gotta respect the guy for.

None of you guys have worked in theatre or film production, and if you have you would know this is pretty annoying.
People walking past on locational sets, not knowing their lines, punctuality and much more but nothing is perfect, nor me, nor you or anyone else in this site's forum.

Killer is saying that Christian Bale's apology comes from nothing but fear. That may be true, but why should Bale have to apologize to us anyway? This is something that happened between he and the DP of the film. The only apology that he owes is to that DP and the cast/crew. I doubt anyone here has never lost their temper, never done something that was inexcusable. The man is a talented actor, but a human being with flaws. Everyone has them, so please...Killer, Incmob, and the rest of you, especially Killer who I quote as saying "JR you are and will always be a sorry ass dick licker"...whichever one of you is without flaws, please be the one to cast literal stones. It's so easy to cast judgement on someone you've never met because they are famous and supposed to be above reproach. I'm not trying to make this personal, so don't take it that way (though I'm sure some of you will come back with things rivaling Bale's rant in intensity if not length). Peace.

it is very clear bale has anger issues. If you dont remember there was an incident back with his mother and sister as well, but he declined to comment on it because he does not comment on his "personal life" but had there been a tape leaked of it or video he would have been out there apologizing for that for fear it would hurt batman sales.
