The Hollywood Reporter, Summitt Entertainment has acquired the rights to the 1986 feature film
The Highlander for a brand new remake.
Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway have signed on the write the remake.
The Highlander starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery and spawned a franchise that included four film sequels and three television series.
Summitt acquired the rights from Davis/Panzer Productions and Peter Davis, one of the original producers on the first film, will produce the remake as well.
No production schedule was announced.

The 2nd Highlander film wasn't an actual sequel the first one.
