Indian actress Priyanaka Chopra may be going from Bollywood to Metropolis if the latest rumblings are to be believed. According a report in
Zee News, Chopra has been offered the role of Superman's love interest in
Superman: The Man of Steel.
Officially, Chopra and the studios aren't saying anything, but according to sources the actress has been offered the role and has almost accepted. The role will be that of a lady scientist who will be romantically involved with the Man of Steel.
And what about Lois Lane? Well, remember that in
Superman Returns, it was established that Lois was engaged to another man, who she assumed was the father of her son.
Few details are currently available for
Superman: The Man of Steel, but it is known that Brandon Routh will return to his role as the Man of Steel and Bryan Singer will be back to direct. Kevin Spacey has also expressed an interest in returning as Lex Luthor.

This one better be a new piece of work.
Brainiac,Doomsday,Metallo,Cyborg Superman, Parasite,Darkseid,Luthor,Bizarro,General Zod,Mongul,Gog,Mister Mxyzptlk,Eradicator, and Toy Man
Then then they put superman on a plane because he cant fly anymore. Interesting.
A very weak opponent in Lex Luther. Just a cleverish bloke.
Poor editing and choppy scenes, lame comedy attempts by Lex Luther. Tumbleweed.
Superman in hospital with his costume on, while his foster mum waits outside with the citizens of Metropolis for him to get better. Cheesy and sentimental.
Too much emphasis on Christopher Reeves portrayal. This a new version of the SUPERMAN character not an imitation of Christopher Reeves.
Kryptonite makes Superman even weaker than your Nan. Then a few forgettable and uncharismatic thugs beat him up very easily.
The boy.
Do we have to watch this boy grow up and fight along side Superman in every future sequel ?
How can they write him off without making Superman look like a bad father ?
Does Superman get to visit him every other weekend ?
Will he grow to hate his dad and become a little super-villan ?
They cant kill him off. It is politically incorrect.
This is so tedious, I cant believe i'm typing about this.
The only option is a franchise re-boot like 'The Hulk' to salvage this wreckage.
The future of this serious is very bleak. I mean, can you even name 5 of Supermans arch enemies ? No ? not many can.
Spiderman has loads of recogniseable foes as does Batman.
I dont hate the Superman character, I love it but they just f***ed his movie comeback bigtime.
I've only seen it once and it made me cringe. . . .
The casting of Brandon Routh as Superman and kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor was solid. Arguably, X-Men director Bryan Singer was a good choice too.
I think that the negative consensus of Superman Returns lies with the Studio-Committee/$$$ tampering.
S5's (Returns)fall, to me, was that the screenplay's machinations and accompanying tone of Lex Luthor were too hyperbolic, flippant and contrived for a modern audience.
Super hero movies, as well as their comic derivations, are inspired by the zeitgeist of their times. The modern, movie sequels should reflect this.
Therefore, Superman: The Man of Steel sequel, story lines & tone should resonate with the post Iraq War purgatory/between presidential administrations anxiety/economic down turn Angst to really reach and be relevant with current movie-going audiences.
Drop the cartoonish tone and put Superman through utter hell crisis so that the audience can relate again vicariously to his tribulations...to ultimately triumph over a classic Superman villian (Doomsday for example) that stands in for a middle-eastern nuclear weapons superpower threat/international-OIL Chokehold.
The original Superman 1&2 were great...which gives me hope that somebody in this production will heed the call and bring Superman back to his badass status/rightful place alongside venerable, new Batman movies.
If a lesser super hero character like Iron Man can be made into a Great movie, think of the potential that there is for a new Superman movie.
