Graham Yost, Tony To and Jeremy Podeswa have all been selected to direct episodes of HBO's upcoming miniseries The Pacific. According to Variety, the show went into production today.

Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman are producing the show, which was designed as a companion piece to their Band of Brothers. It will tell the story of three U.S. Marines fighting in the Pacific.

James Badge Dale plays Robert Leckie, while Joe Mazzello is on board as Eugene Sledge and Jon Seda is cast as John Basilone. The series will air sometime in 2009.
