Leng T'che, good point about where a prequel will go. Maybe it will show the downfall of society, that was only shown in retrospect, in the beginning of The Road Warrior. That's the only thing I can think of. Because like you say, it basically all started when his wife and kid were run down, after he chased The Knight Rider, and the gang took out revenge on Max. But if you think about it, society had already spiraled into depravity in Mad Max, because the police force was like in this no-mans land and the station was basically a run down hole in the wall, with no apparent official support. I mean there was a stripped down car in their parking lot, that nobody even cared to get rid of.

@newkill good point, stallone did kick some ass in the new rambo.

A prequel to what? The original already starts of at the beginning of his with his wife getting killed and him going out for vengeance. What can they possibly prequel to? Them getting married? Having a kid? Buying a house? Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

seriously though mel gibson is like 60 years old, how mad could his max really still be? maybe if it was called apathetic max, or retired max then it would make sense to try to get him back for this.

See, this is what I don't understand about Movieweb, Miller says it himself that they haven't cast anybody and they're still looking, yet Movieweb still puts that Theron and Worthington are cast in the movie. Miller doesn't even say who's in the running, and that everything out there is just rumors. Did the guys at Movieweb screen the clip before they posted it, or are they just that stubborn?

i like sam worthington. personally the whole mel thing means nothing to me. i'd be more excited though if they promised that master-blaster was going to be in the movie. that would be freakin' sweet.

I refuse to see a Max film without Mel in it.
