Our Box Office numbers provider, Lee's Movie Info reports that Batman Begins took in a whopping $15,068,368 on it's first day of release in North America yesterday.

The film opened on 3,718 screens and took an average of $4,053 per screen.

If this number is a sign of things to come this weekend, the film should be looking to beat out any of the competition this weekend, and possibly be one of the first films to start to turn around 2005's summer box office slump.
