APRIL FOOLS: Zack Snyder Set for Star Wars Reboot!

Zach Snyder Set For Star Wars Reboot
Jaw-dropping news hit the convention floors at this year's Showest as attendees of the Lucasfilm panel witnessed Watchmen director, Zack Snyder and George Lucas himself announce to the world that Snyder has been tapped to reboot the Star Wars franchise. Snyder is apparently writing and directing a new version of the seminal George Lucas opus, with plans to "re-imagine" Lucas's original fan-beloved trilogy, with episodes 4, 5 and 6 of the franchise.

"To be honest, Zack wasn't always my first choice," Lucas told a crowd of skeptical journalists and fans. "But I feel he can really 300 up the project."

Lucas went on, "The original trilogy is really lacking in terms of cohesiveness, writing, and overall story structure. I just didn't have the time then to do what I did with episodes 1, 2 and 3 which represent the true intended Star Wars universe."

"Quite frankly, and I know a lot of people won't want to hear this, but I find the episodes 4-6 to be somewhat boring when compared to episodes 1-3. I just have never felt totally satisfied with this franchise and I think the fans know that."

Director Zack Snyder told fans "not to worry" and revealed that he'd like to see Mark Hammil, Harrison Ford and Billy D. Williams lend their voices to the project in some way. There is even talk about new 3-D technology, and how some characters might reappear as their "younger" selves.

Lucas and Snyder plan to reveal more in the months to come.

Fuck it, if George Lucas signed all his SW rights to Zack Snyder on his deathbed, the result couldn't be half as bad as anything produced after TESB.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the overcast of digital effects...they were distracting. And he should NEVER have done the special editions of 4-6...damn the list goes on. He should have just let me handle it!!!

You know...episodes 1-3 aren't bad storytelling...what's wrong is the fact Lucas can't write a script worth a damn. Omit Anakin's awkward lines, Jar-Jar and the whole "midichlorians" thing, get a director and screenplay writer who know what they're doing with Lucas' story. Let's face it, Menace would have been better had Anakin been a silent prodigy and no Jar-Jar and no ruining-the-Force-mythology-by-scientifically-explaining-it-away-with-midichlorians. Clones would have been better, again, if Anakin kept quiet. I agree, though, 4-6 can't be touched. Revenge of the Sith was really good, though, if you can stomach through Menace and Clones.

What do you mean 'is this a joke' besides the caption of April Fools, GL wouldn't bash his original galactic opus, and say it needed a "300" type of boost. Of course it's just a joke. lolz

You know if this were not April Fools than i would have definitely believed it because only George Lucas could do something that stupid, of course i wouldn't doubt it, he really knows how to &$^% these movies up, 123 sucked balls, and nothing will ever touch the originals... i hate you GL!!

Not all people bought it, check my comments. What started as a joke, we saw it before as a good idea. Ep 1-2-3 are better in state.of.the.art.fx, plus acting and 4-5-6 are better in story telling and heart. The posibility of combine the best of both worlds are exciting.

Is anyone else sick of waiting for confimation. I still don't believe it. And like I said earlier. As much as I want to pay 30 bucks to see all three movies in theaters, I still want confirmation.
