While fans may be happy that they don't have to wait so long for
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra to hit DVD shelves, one group isn't happy at all about it: theater owners. According to
The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount's early DVD release of
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra on November 3, just 88 days after its theatrical opening, received angered response from the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO).
"Our members are ballistic," National Association of Theatre Owners president John Fithian said.
Paramount's average of theatrical-to-DVD window has been 123 days, and this drastic shift has raised eyebrows at NATO. The industry average between all studios is 129 days.
"We don't know what Paramount is up to, but it's highly objectionable," Fithian added.

Today you can either pay money to see the film in a theater ...Or wait 2-3 months down the road and the film that you wanted to see in theaters will end up at the $1.00 Redbox for rental!!!
even a few rare DVDs take over a year to be available
and I know some people find it frustrating that they have to wait so long for other DVDs
isnt that how it works: the longer a movie is in theaters the longer it takes the DVDs to come out, but the faster a movie is pulled out of theaters the faster it's DVD release will come
