Michael Bay Has Finished Transformers 2 Script

Source:  Rotten Tomatoes
Michael Bay has just announced that he has finished the script to the action-packed sequel Transformers 2. According to Rotten Tomatoes, Bay insists that he had to finish the script to ensure that the project developed as scheduled.

Bay said "We've got our characters all designed. I always write all my scripts, my movies anyway so at least I've got something to give the writers. It's like a template. We have a really good outline so I worked on that." Shia LaBeouf has signed on to return as lead role Sam Witwicky in Paramount Pictures' Transformers 2.

Transformers 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 26th, 2009.

What would be interesting if they added transformers from the old cartoon movie. Ultra magnus, hot rod, kup, blurr. Or even introduce headmasters.

More Tf2 movie info... (I've seen Tfs 40+ times and I still can't get enough) I love it more than my boys and my husband. I could care less what looks fake or unrealistic, perse...it's just a awesome movie!

I have to agree with Member Seti73 ,I loved the first film also! But lets be real about the movie being REALISTIC in REAL LIFE these robots could give $#!7 less about human life but to portray that on film would be too much .Optimus could have killed megatron with that sword arm thing or that shoulder gun but they had to keep you involved plus you know to show the truism of hatred between those two tribes would cost about 400 million dollars and we all know that budgets shape the out come of most movies.I READ the first draft of the sequel and all I gotta say is " about fucking time" I really hope they focus on slowing down the tranformations this time.

Barricade actually died in the movie it just did'nt make it on film due to bad editing.Sound wave is in the sequel He is a big stupid satelite looking gun.All the airplane decepticons from G1 are involved.

and plus if you waited a lil bit after the movie you saw starscream fleeing back into space..... which means he is getting more Decepticons to come back and help fight and by the time he comes back thinking he is gonna be the leader of the Decepticons megatron will allready be back alive its gonna be a kick ass movie soo dont worry!!

I wanna know what the hell happened to barricade in the movie, i mean he just vanished right before bonecrusher and optimus prime fought on the highway scene, he wasn't even part of the battle in the city, so WTH happened there??

wasnt the DEVASTATOR in the first movie witch kinda pissed me off because he was a damn tank and not a bunch of little tractors that formed up in one big robot

Well most likely they might bring in Galvatron or Shockwave. He was the leader of the Decepticons in the comic book.

Someone mentioned a aircraft carrier being a Decepticon...which isn't too far fetched if you really think about it. Remember near the end of the first film they drop Megatron in the ocean (from a large ship) so maybe one of those ships is that Decepticons or maybe the ship that actually "drops" Megatron in the ocean was him and planted some type of tracing device so he could later revive Megatron. Dinobots are unlikely and even more unrealistic given the already unrealistic plot-not that I mind giant robots, it seems like TOO much. But let's say they did somehow go with Dinobots, there could be some type of dinosaur that was ocean/land based like the Loch-Ness monster that would be a Decepticon and finds Megatron and brings him back to life. Either way, Megatron will be back he is the leader of the Decepticons for crying out loud...and my personal favorite who got away at the end...Starscream is still flying around somewhere lol.

I wonder if the decepticons will come back and re build megatron or if they have gone with a different story.

-Andrew - you bring up some good points...perhaps the Dinobots wouldn't be all that cartoonish.

-From what I heard, Scorponok was going to seek out and find Megatron and revive him with his own spark...not Soundwave.

-Thankfully, the writers want to stay away from the mass-shifting idea (like Soundwave turning into tape deck)...so Soundwave will most-likely be a vehicle of some kind. Like Annoying said...they've pretty much strayed from the original alternate forms anyway (mostly) so I'm not so sure how bad that would be.

-I loved the first film. Sure, it could have been written better, but I thought they did a damn good job. I saw the initial screening at 8:00 PM (CST) on July 2nd, and the theater was filled with people my age (early 30s). It's been a long time since people were cheering and clapping in the theater throughout a movie...and therefore, to me at least...this movie was VERY memorable.

-I agree, Optimus seemed much weaker than Megatron...and I really didn't care for that. Even in the Alan Dean Foster novel Ghosts of Yesterday (which was the prequel to the film) the Decepitcons noted that Optimus was almost unbeatable. Then again, one could argue that Optimus held back because he was in a city of humans, and couldn't really "let it all out" in fear of harming them when fighting Megatron. Case in point was the quick dismantling of Bonecrusher, as well as the defeat of Barricade (which was a cut scene). Of course, this is just subjective...(as they were lesser Decepticons anyway).

-I was upset at first, that Bumblebee was not a VW...and despite what the writers originally stated (straying from the cutesy Bug)...the sponsorship from GM had much to do with that. That said; I'm not so upset now...and the Camaro Bumblebee has grown on me. Besides, who can argue that Ironhide as a GMC Topkick wasn't an excellent idea? I'd rather see him be that, than a red van. Being a Ford fan, it originally turned me off to see all the GMs...but at least Barricade was a baddass Saleen.

Anyway, just some thoughts...

Cheers

Release date of June 26th, 2009 thats much earlier than I expected.
I'd love to see a live action Unicron & Dinobots. Megatron will be back, maybe they might bring in Thundercracker,Shockwave,Bruticus or Devastator.

Transformers producer Tom DeSanto has said that they came up with some really cool ideas for the Dinobots that could make them work.

February 13th, 2008 1:40pm
why would they do that? it sounds like a bad idea and an unnecessary sequel.

i personally hope they bring energon into this so that they can boost their power in fights so maybe octimus will finally be like he was supposed to:: almost invincible. then they can bring the story into unicron. i also think that the dinobots are a cool idea.

February 13th, 2008 12:32pm
cool beans. more giant robots.

i believe the premise of the movie includes soundwave coming to earth and reviving megatron, and then more mindless robot violence. but i doubt if the dinobots would ever be brought around, it just doesnt seem likely.

lookin forward to it.

It was memorable only to the fact that use adults saw toys we used to play with come to life on the big screen just like the up coming G.I. Joe, but still an awsome movie. Im just wondering who will do the voice of Grimlock (Dinobot Leader)?????---if their in the script.

Good to know that things on already rolling for this movie...And just for the record, Mike doesn't write 100% of the script, he just writes something for the writers so they have an idea of what he wants the movie to look like...

I think seeing Soundwave as an Ipod would be too funny!!!! If they bring in the Dinobots how would they do it????? Maybe they land near a museum? But I do have to say the Autobots do transform into alot of cars. And the Decipticons transform into alot of aerial vehicals. Is it just me or did Optimus seen a little weak in the first one??? I always thought that those 2 were usally on the same level, but Megatron just through him around like a doll.... I don't know exactlly who I would like to see most in the next one but I think if they did something like Transformers movie about Unicron and the sort that would be good. I like how Hotrod turned into Rodimus Prime and became the Quasi-Leader of the Autobots. I think the whole movie was good.
