Todd McFarlane Penning New Spawn Film

Source:  Twitter
McFarlane Starts Writing New Spawn Film Todd McFarlane, via his Twitter page, recently announced that he is currently writing a new Spawn film. He says:

"I've officially begun writing the Spawn movie screenplay. The story has been in my head for 7 or 8 years. Will continue to update. The movie idea is neither a recap or continuation. It is a stand alone story that will be R-rated. Creepy and scary. The tone of this Spawn movie will be for a more older audience. Like the film Departed."

This movie will mark the second live-action adaptation of this highly influential Image comic.

As long as McFarlane has control over this one, unlike the last, I'm sure the story should be good.

Wow Comrade. Reagen is the one that pulled us from the fucking cold war by sitting down and acting like a human being. You should be thankful or we probably wouldn't would not be here today.

I am not good at politics, nor care for them too much, but I do my best to recognize a good man when I see one.

I don't like politics lol, but I actually agree with Delgren. Imagine that dude!? Haha jm :)

No i get you point, but even if you did use such a photo as you described below, i wouldn't care.
A photo is a photo, unless it harms someone or offends someone its different. My avatar is a photo, i don't believe its offensive, its just a random photo with some movie injected class infused with political imagery.

Ottley, I knew you'd distance yourself from liking either of your British leaders in defiance and miss the whole point about using politically incendiary imagery for your avatar. Maybe it's just another way for you to grab some attention, which speaks what it needs to about yourself.

AFC, be my guest, what ever tickles your fancy mate, i couldn't care for Gordan Brown his about as big a dick as Tony Blair, and well no one really give 2 tons of shit about the queen anymore, its just a title nothing special nothing more.
Shit people care more for Buckingham Palace than they do the Queen.

It's your avatar, in the end of the day, its your decision what you decide to do

The Fallen, during the Clinton administration, the US economy expanded by 50% and by the end of his tenure the US had a gross national product of $10,000bn - one quarter of the entire world economic output. The unemployment rate dropped by half, to 4%, a 40-year-low, while that economy created some 15 million jobs. He maintained a federal budget surplus, which quickly was used up during the Iraq War/Bush administration whose running War tab is over $915 Billion, now the largest defecit ever...Obama has been on the job for only six months, trying to dig our way out of the worst economy since the Great Depression in the '30's and fight two war fronts.

J.a. ottley, would it be cool (just because I like the imagery/your logic) for me to have an avatar of Prime Minister Gordon Brown in Joker/British flag makeup being sodomized by the Queen?

I believe that its unfortunate that posters like that are made and people throw the word fascist around like free banana day at the monkey department. Most of you are unaware of what these political ideologies are or what they stand for other than what is past down to you from people you trust, i.e. friends, parents, teachers, religion, and unfortunately news groups (which largely own by corporations with special interests on both sides of the argument, and are not run to serve the public interest like they use to before they were privatized and sold off to the highest bidder).

If people weren't so lazy and gobbled up the first thing that was fed to them, instead of actually going out and researching the information available, fact checking that which is given to them, these words would be rendered obsolete in the understanding that our problems are far more complex than those of the past political struggles these words/ideas emerged from. And though maybe some solutions might bear similarities to those of these political ideologies, they fall short of embodying the entire movement. In conclusion to my little political sermon here, we're dealing with problems and resolutions that can't merely be categorized by stereotypes or pigeonholes, It takes a lot more thought and understanding, than to just take what's given to you and run with it. Hope I wasn't too condescending, I'm just tired of seeing those words thrown around like nothing.

Annoyingfilmcritic, Geoge didn't dig a the hole were in. clinton did, and George walked right into it. Thats when we noticed there was a fucking hole in the first place. Then he started digging us out, and ended up right back where we started. Now Obama is trying to dig us out, but doing a shitty job so far. Overall, I don't care for the presidents since Ronald.

Indeed i am a limey my good old comrade :D proud to be a British Citizen, but i got afew Americans friends that are worried that Obama may mess up the system but who know what is ti happen.

Lets all just get over the fact that my avatar is just a bloody picture, to me it means nothing, maybe because i'm a limey.

I just thought the picture was awesome, i like it, in general its my avatar, its my profile, and well i control it unless Movieweb says otherwise...
So i'll guess well all just have to grit our teeth and live with it until i change it...

Now back to the topic

I'd like to remind everyone that Ottley is a limey (at least he claims to be) and thusly has only a limited understanding of what's going on over here.

J.A. Ottley, you can't have your cake and eat it too. That kind of provacative imagery, you well know, is inciteful, so don't try to be all nonchalant now. Whether its commentary or avatar selection, political skewering doesn't have a place in a Movie website unless it relates to something like a Michael Moore movie documentary.

FINALLY!!!! Jeez, I remember when I went to go see the first Spawn film in theatres. It was ok...not the best work but it was worth seeing Spawn on the screen. Can't wait for the next film, hopeful that it is INSANE!!!!

It's good that he has it in his head to do a standalone that isn't necessarily a sequel or a reboot. I hope they do a lot of practical effects like in the Michael Jai White one.

August 24th, 2009 10:42am
Cool/hope it gets out of development hell/obama is not a socialist (j.a. ottley)-he had to spend money to get the US out of the recession that he inherited from Bush and healthcare costs have been spiraling out of control for decades-so, someone has to reign it in, which conflicts with republicans who rely on big special interest groups such as pharmaceutical conglomerates for votes, so quit bitching about obama being a socialist, that's just a republican scare tactic since they have no other political strategy, platform or leadership now....now back to new Spawn movie conjecture...
