Will Wolverine Face Off Against the Blob, Gambit and Deadpool?

Source:  Film School Rejects, Ain't It Cool News
Hugh Jackman has said before that X-Men Origins: Wolverine will feature "a good bit of cameos of new and familiar mutants," and reports that have started flowing in seem to be proving him correct. Thanks to reports from Film School Rejects, Ain't It Cool News and The X-Verse, we have word that famous Marvel mutants The Blob, Deadpool and Gambit may all be slated to appear opposite Hugh Jackman in the prequel to Fox's X-Men.

Film School Rejects reports that a source inside the production confirmed the presence of the Blob in the film, complete with test footage already been shot with an actor in a rubber suit. According to their source, the suit makes the actor appear to weigh something in the realm of 800 lbs., but the character may appear even larger.

In the comic books, the Blob is one of the X-Men's oldest villains, with the power to make himself virtually immovable. His immense bulk also gave him some measure of superhuman strength and durability. No word yet on what actor will be portraying the Blob in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Meanwhile, Ain't It Cool News has confirmed that Ryan Reynolds is slated to appear in the film as the mutant mercenary Deadpool. Deadpool was a part of the same military program responsible for the transformation of Logan into Wolverine, and the two have history stretching back for decades. Known as the "Merc with a mouth," Deadpool is known for his off-color wisecracks and sarcastic sense of humor. Reynolds has been rumored to be connected to this character on-and-off for years, including times when it was thought that Deadpool might receive his own film.

Finally, The X-Verse says that Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights) may have been cast in X-Men Origins: Wolverine in the role of the Cajun mutant known as Gambit. Gambit, a fan favorite who was featured heavily in Fox's animated X-Men series, was rumored for involvement in both X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand, so fans should be pleased to see him appear in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The report is quick to point out that the size of Kitsch's role is currently unknown, and may only be a cameo appearance.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine explores Wolverine's early days, before joining the X-Men. The film will cover Logan's early life, and his involvement with the mysterious Weapon X program. The film stars Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine and Liev Shrieber as Creed/Sabretooth. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is due to arrive in theatres in 2009.

Rosie O'Donnell doesn't take shits...she IS a walking pile of shit. Now, who do u think would win: Blob or Rosie? I pick Rosie, cuz she's a fat lesbian bitch who would kick Blob in the nuts without thinking twice. That is, if she could find them. THAT'S IT! How does the BLOB thake a shit?! Or piss for that matter?!

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool is such perfect casting. Oooh, I love it!

February 19th, 2008 6:13pm
I think that Deadpool should be a definite as he is part of the Weapon X program. As for the idea of Gambit and Blob, I am thinking that this is a stupid idea for this movie. Those two are meant for an X Men movie not a Wolverine spinoff.
Fox shot themselves in the foot in relation to Gambit by making Rogue a teenager in the first place therefore killing the fun of the comic books where she and Gambit had that old Sexual tension issue.
