Ben Stiller's Night at the Museum Takes The Weekend Box Office

Night at the Museum won the weekend box office with $30.8 million. The Ben stiller comedy debuted in first place; it also stars Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney.Last week's number one, The Pursuit of Happyness came in second with $15 million for a two week total of $53.2 million, notes Box Office Mojo. The true story film stars Will Smith as a man who turned his life around starting one of the most successful financial companies in the country.
Rocky Balboa packed a punch taking third place over the weekend with $12.5 million and a 5 day total of $22.2 million; Sylvester Stallone stars as the Philly boxer who makes one last run in the ring.
The Good Shepherd debuted in fourth place with $9.9 million this weekend. Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, and Robert DeNiro star in the CIA drama.
The star-studded cast of Charlotte's Web came in fifth place with $8 million and a two week total of $26.8 million. Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Steve Buscemi, and Thomas Haden Church are the voice cast of the animals and Dakota Fanning is the girl trying to save little pig, Wilber in the adaptation of the E.B. White children's book.
Dropping four spots to sxith place, Eragon brought in $7.1 million over the weekend. The comic fantasy has made $37.6 million over two weeks with the teen Edward Speleers, Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich and Robert Carlyle.
Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Fox star in We Are Marshall; the drama came in seventh place with $6.6 million over the weekend and a five day total of $7.7 million. The film follows the season following the plane crash killing a majority of the the 1970 Marshall University football team.
Happy Feet danced to an eighth place finish taking in $5.1 million. The animated flick has brought in a tremendous $159.1 in six weeks.
The romantic comedy, The Holiday took ninth place with $5 million; in three weeks, it's made $35 million. From writer/director Nancy Meyers, the film stars Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, and Jack Black.
The Nativity Story finished the top ten taking in $4.6 million and a four week total of $31 million.
